Riobamba Latin Kitchen — honest mexican in Glenview. Order the Yuca Fries. Old-school in the best sense, with zero pretense.

Stopped here a few weeks ago for dinner. We got it to go and went to a nearby park to enjoy.
I’m leaving this review solely because of the customer service I received during a recent phone interaction.

“Riobamba delivers a vibrant and satisfying dining experience, earning a solid four stars for its flavorful Latin-inspired dishes, warm atmosphere, and consistently friendly service”
Review is for their FOOD TRUCK NOT ACTUAL RESTAURANT. A taco was $5. I would rather starve.
“Great food with classic and robust flavors.”
Great food with classic and robust flavors. Versatility on menu and ordering was easy and without resistance. Lots of fresh ingredients; tastes authentic because it is. Owned by a local Gkenciew resident who loved his heritage and culture that wants to bless his neighbors and community with incredible Cuban food. They also have a food truck too for private parties. Great spot for dine-in, carry out or delivery (check who does their delivery service.). I love their shrimp tacos also their fish tacos. Classic torts was so balanced and authentic. My young son even devoured all his food and rice with beans. They also have amazing flan dessert along with Michicanana palettas and other desserts. Head over and see what all the buzz is about.

“What a hidden gem this place turned out to be.”
What a hidden gem this place turned out to be! Tony knows his stuff and has passion for cooking amazing, authentic, and fresh food. He had me try smoke Brisket that he cooked/smoked for 15 hours with yucca fries and homemade sauces - WOW!!! Definitely coming back to try Tacos and different meat options very soon

What a great little place. Got the burrito bowl a few times already and in blown away each time. The horchata is delicious, the yucca fries, chimmichurri sauce, the maduros... 😋. It's my new local taco go to place.

“Ecuadorian flare, great food, nice folks best new restaurant in Glenview, IL in years.”
Ecuadorian flare, great food, nice folks best new restaurant in Glenview, IL in years. The place is becoming very popular. The shrimp or steak tacos are to die for. The herb salt and salsa's are unique from a hot fruity salsa to more mild, you will wan to try them all. Don't forget the chocolate cocoa cake.

“We went out with some friends today to grab some tacos.”
We went out with some friends today to grab some tacos. We also had guacamole and chips, as well as rice and beans. Steak Tacos were good. Everything else was average. We weren't crazy about the rice and beans. The service was very good, however the atmosphere felt like it was more of a fast food pickup restaurant.

“Nice little restaurant.”
Nice little restaurant! The food is good. I was expecting it to be Ecuadorian food given the name of the restaurant and the name of the plate "hornado", but it's more Mexican than anything else. Great place for tacos and good service. I LOVED the tostones!

“The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the service is fast.”
The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the service is fast. But the food very much lacks any flavor. The attached photo of the rights and beans should say enough. The rice is probably instant rice and the beans right from the can with no treatment. The tacos were all very bland. Luckily, they didn’t overcook the lamb, but it was very bland. The carnitas and Al pastor were super dry and bland. The only thing worth eating is the fish taco. Sadly, won’t be coming back.

“I really liked my tacos.”
I really liked my tacos. However, no Coke or Pepsi options. They carry a brand that I’ve never heard of, only root beer kind of drinks. UGH
