Finding a Great Restaurant Shouldn't Be This Hard

We built 312 Eats because choosing where to eat in Chicago is broken for everyone — diners and restaurant owners alike. Here's our story.

If you're a diner

  • You've scrolled through hundreds of Google results with no way to tell what's actually good
  • You've been burned by a place that looked great on Instagram but the food was mediocre
  • You don't trust Yelp rankings because paid placements dominate every search
  • You want to find the best tacos in your neighborhood without reading 200 reviews

If you own a restaurant

  • You serve incredible food but directories don't rank you transparently
  • Review platforms push you to pay for visibility instead of earning it through quality
  • Tourists fill your dining room while loyal neighborhood regulars can't get a table
  • Your hundreds of five-star reviews get buried behind paid ads and sponsored listings

We built 312 Eats because both sides deserve better.

Diners deserve a directory where every ranking is backed by real review data — not ad spend. Restaurant owners deserve a platform where great food gets the visibility it earns. Every listing is evaluated through performance, and everything is transparent. That's the model.

What Makes 312 Eats Different

We go beyond star ratings. Every restaurant is analyzed across multiple dimensions.

Separate Food, Service & Ambiance Scores

AI analyzes reviews to score each dimension independently — a place with great food but slow service gets rated accurately.

Must-Order Dishes

We extract the dishes people rave about from real reviews — not just what the restaurant promotes.

Vibe & Dietary Tags

Cozy, romantic, family-friendly, great cocktails, vegan-friendly, halal — real tags from real diner language.

184 Neighborhoods

Browse by neighborhood, not just “Chicago.” Find the best spots in Pilsen, Logan Square, Bridgeport, or wherever you are.

No Pay-to-Play Rankings

Tiers are earned through measurable criteria. Promoted listings are always clearly labeled — quality stays honest.

Continuously Updated

Our pipeline runs continuously. Restaurants move up or down based on real performance — not how much they spend.

Full AI profiles with dishes, quotes, and dietary info are generated for every listing.
