Cantina on Madison started the battle with mixed stats but gradually leveled up as the encounter progressed. We were seated immediately, but the menu took a while to arrive and the water used a particularly slow version of Aqua Jet. Thankfully, once the meal phase began, the service found its rhythm and became much more attentive throughout the rest of the visit. I ordered the Taco Dinner featuring Barbacoa, Pastor, and Carnitas tacos. These weren’t tiny Route 1 encounters either. The tacos came fully evolved with generous fillings and arrived piping hot. The rice and beans provided strong support moves, and the melted Chihuahua cheese on the beans added an extra layer of flavor that boosted the entire plate. By the end of the meal, my HP bar was completely restored. The atmosphere carries a lively city energy, complete with conversations bouncing off the walls and the occasional train reminding you that you’re battling in an urban environment. Despite the noise, the restaurant and restroom were kept impressively clean. Cantina on Madison feels like a successful fusion of Mexican and American dining styles, making it a worthwhile stop for Trainers looking for a hearty and satisfying meal in Chicago!”
