Thank you for honoring our absolute last minute order because you helped this mama feed my family of four plus two friends. Everyone but me is heading out of town tomorrow so there’s like little food in the house. So thank you thank you 🙌 You can see my crappy photo of tasty tasties what we got, because everyone was so eager to eat right now so no fancy photo but EVERYTHING was so very good! “Pollo Express in Ravenswood is SUCH an amazing addition to the neighborhood, and I get takeout here several times a week. It is one of a few extremely affordable places to get an incredibly delicious, fresh, and hot meal. Their chicken is my favorite by far out of the various grilled chicken spots (e.g. Chicken Hut, Chicken Works and Salad Company - I love these ones too but Pollo Express is #1 for me in taste by a mile). Served with warm tortillas, salsas, onions, it always feels like such a treat, and comes in at a similar price as a Chipotle bowl or Subway footlong (~12ish per person, or even less if you don't eat as much as I do lol). I am a huge fan also of its location right by the 50 Damen and 81 Lawrence bus stops. Last but not least, the service and warmth provided here is truly top notch amidst a sea of restaurants that don't offer welcoming customer service. Consistency, affordability, deliciousness, and warm service make this spot a staple for me.”

I particularly enjoyed the sides; the grilled sweet onions, kale, and peppers added a great touch and felt much fresher than standard fast-casual fare. It’s clearly a hit with the local Mexican community, which is always a great sign of authenticity. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!”
