A very welcome addition to the neighborhood! I've had it twice, mix burrito and 1/4 chicken dark and then a 1/2 chicken combo. The burrito was solid, but the chicken is the star of the show. The Mexican rice and charro bean side plus the tortillas, charred peppers, and salsas all combine well with the chicken for an excellent meal or 2 with leftovers.

As a longtime fan of the 18th Street location, I was overjoyed to learn that they were opening a location closer to my house. Pollo Express does not disappoint. It’s family owned and operated, and I assure you that will not go unnoticed when you enter the restaurant. The friendly staff, the clean establishment, the freshness and quality of the food, all Hallmark’s have a well run family establishment. Pride. And the should be proud. ♥️ I’m fortunate to have gotten to know Lorena and her family over the past 15 years. I can tell you, Ravenswood is getting a wonderful new neighbor. You’ll also be seeing a lot more of me!

Finally got a chance to visit this place, always walk by it on my way to work. I have to say the food is very good although missing a bit of seasoning for my taste, i didnt know they had a location closer to me on 18th st, now i can go when im home from work. Portion sizes are very big but so worth it. Paid $23 for the mix bowl a large horchata (plus 3% for card purchase) so i would say bring cash to avoid that fee. Will be back to try other things

The best part was no doubt the tender, juicy, and smoky grilled chicken. Charro bean had good flavors but was a bit too watery. Mexican rice was bland and forgettable.
