Love this place. It has great and consistent for tofu soup! I love that you can choose either ramen or hot stone rice as a side—it’s a nice touch. Kimchi beef tofu soup is my favorite, spicy please. The food was tasty, but what really stood out was the service. For a Korean restaurant, they went above and beyond: servers took turns checking in, offering refills on side dishes, water, and tea. They’ve also expanded their menu to include bento lunches and cold buckwheat soup, which is absolutely refreshing on a hot summer day. I share some with my kids. They love it so much that they ended up eating it all. I can’t blame this. If you’ve never tried cold noodle soup before, this is the perfect place to start.

Korean restaurant in Chicago. We stopped by before leaving the city... food was amazing. We got 해물파전 & “섞어” 순두부찌개! I did regular spicy level since I'm not good with spicy.. and it was good & was able to handle it 😌❤️

We specifically drove here just for the tofu hot stone soup, and it did not disappoint! The tofu soup was amazing—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The entire experience at SGD was great, from the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. I have to say I love their small dishes!!!The restaurant is located in a plaza with other great Korean food options too, making it a perfect spot if you’re craving authentic Korean flavors. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic tofu soup and an overall excellent dining experience!

“Truly tasty and authentic Korean dishes.”

Truly tasty and authentic Korean dishes. The soondubu jjigae and dolsot bibimbap were great. The banchan dishes were really good, appropriate, and well prepared. I previously had the bento boxes and bulgogi and they were delicious. There is usually a wait to be seated, but service and delivery is almost instant. There is parking all around.

“The food here is Fantastic.”

The food here is Fantastic! It’s still as good as the first time we came here! You get a lot of sides, which taste amazing, especially the Kimchi and fish cakes!!! My favorite dish would have to be the Beef Soondubu Jjigae with Ramen! I have also ordered food from here to be delivered as well, and it still tastes amazing! Mixing the broth in with the white rice & Ramen is a great combo!!

We have been loyal customers of this amazing Korean restaurant for many years. The service is consistently fast, and the food is absolutely delicious. We have had the pleasure of trying almost everything from their menu, and we have some clear favorites. The beef bulgogi is always a hit, as is the flavorful bibimbap with beef. The seafood pancake and crispy fried dumplings are also must-tries. I highly recommend their Soondubu with beef or seafood (just be aware that the shrimps and clams still have their shells). Complimentary side dishes (banchan) also are very tasty and they give refills. It's worth noting that this place is quite popular, especially on weekends, so there might be a wait as they do not accept reservations. However, our usual wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes.
