The bandeja paisa dish was not really good, quality of the beef was so bad. I think it could be better for the price.

Can we do a 10 star for the atmosphere? Don't get me wrong, service was phenomenal and the food was AMAZING! We got the breaded tilapia, bandeja paisa and maracuya mousse for dessert and i still can't stop thinking about it! BUT THE MUSIC! it's food for the heart and soul! Can't believe I've only found out about this gem! Tbh I wanna keep it a secret, but it's too amazing to not share.

Amazing food and staff are very friendly. As far as food we had the empanadas which were a good size and very crunchy. We also had the churrasco and los compadres which I highly recommend. Drinks are delicious! Had the Colombian Mule and mojitos and they are perfectly balanced.

The food was mouthwatering and flavorful. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer along with choripapas. I would’ve taken pictures of the empanadas but they were so good that they didn’t last on the plate. This is a place I definitely want to go again.

10 Dec 2024 Last July, we had an amazing dining experience at Sabor A Café Chicago - Colombian Steakhouse & Live Music Venue. This time around, on December 10, 2024, the experience was just as delightful. We enjoyed a mouthwatering spread of Mojarra Frita, Bandeja Paisas, Lengua Criolla, and Empanada De Pollo. To complement our meal, we savored Aguapanela Con Queso, Aguapanela Con Limón, and refreshing sodas. The vibrant ambiance and authentic Colombian flavors once again made this a memorable occasion. Sabor A Café continues to be our go-to spot for a family dinner infused with warmth, culture, and live music.

This was our first time at Sabor a Cafe, we went on a Saturday evening when Carpio and La Clave Maestra were performing, and they were amazing, as well as their music selection was great, and their perAs a Colombian, and vegetarian, we found d many options on the menu, the vegetarian emapnadas were GREAT!. service was top notch, from calling to make the reservation for our group of 10, to the moment we left. The atmosphere was soo fun and friendly. Our friends kept saying "we have to come back soon!", and we will! Highly recommended.

Heard about this place from a YouTube video. SO glad I checked it out. It's a family/night-life entertainment kinda joint, interior design feels comfortable, a touch exotic. Feels like it's in the middle of nowhere on Peterson, but hey, the best places sometimes are. Came for the food, though, and from what I saw, it was authentic, well-presented and super tasty. Usually, empanadas are doughy and heavy, but these were crispy, light and the filling was delicious, reminded me more of a fried wonton. Salsa Verde is choice, just a bit spicy and tastes good on almost everything. That includes the Churrascos, the giant steak I had for dinner. Had it rare, flavor was subtle but hearty, reminded me a bit of Peruvian Lomo Saltado. The chimichurri paired perfectly, not just with the steak, but also the fried yuca (why is THAT not on every steakhouse menu in Chicago? Great accompaniment with juicy beef). Overall, a perfect birthday dinner (thank you, Valentina!). I'm trying some of the traditional seafood next time, I like the combinations listed in the menu. Give this a shot, go later on Saturday for the live music, but make a reservation. Great meal. 😁
