Avenida Peru — clean, consistent peruvian in Portage Park. Buzzy, energetic room where the crowd adds to it. The flavors don't apologize for being bold. Francesc Borrull: "The ceviche was absolutely perfect, very well marinated in a lemon sauce, tender, juicy, and just delicious"

“I'd say if you've never tried cevice, or you are craving for authentic quality ceviche done with craftsmanship and love, look no further, Avenida Peru is the place to go”
Very disappointing experience. We ordered pollo a la brasa, ceviche, and chicha morada.
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food is okay, it’s not the best. Not the tastiest.

“Delicious fresh food.”
Delicious fresh food! We loved this place and the atmosphere. We had the classic ceviche and the jalea 😋 with chicha morada morada and passion fruit. We will definitely go back as this place is a keeper.

Every time we come we order the ceviche and the lomo saltado because both are so extraordinary and they balance each other so well with the contrasting flavors. Just really freaking good food. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but Avenida Peru knocks it out of the park every time.

“This is the best Peruvian Ceviche criollo I ever had in Chicago.”
This is the best Peruvian Ceviche criollo I ever had in Chicago. Is made with corvina and NOT with tilapia as most of the purifican restaurants in this city which make a huge difference in the flavor and quality. The portions is great. And as I’m in keto diet I asked to leave out the sides and it was also great portion even without the side. Fair prices for such a good quality. I will definitely comeback. 5 stars!

“Found this place unexpectedly.”
Found this place unexpectedly. Small place, tables are small for the three of us who came in together, clean, friendly, the food is very tasty 😋 Peruvian food, yum. Ordered the lomo and fish plus chicken soup. Very tasty, flavorful. I totally recommend this place.

“This place serves very good food.”
This place serves very good food. The portions are generous. Staff is very attentive. The only downside I can think of is that this restaurant is on the small side.

“The food was awesome!”
The food was awesome!! menu was a little bit short because it was Monday but we all loved our food! so tasty!!, chaufa broaster was really good, maracuya was too watery but delicious still. Service was ok, and the place is a little bit small but cute.
