“Jake was fantastic! Highly recommend this place, especially if you order the pretzel & schnitzel! (Half pretzel is perfect for 2-3 people) Side Note: It's not a "healthy" eating joint~ this is a German fare menu. Don't come here expecting any salad options- you've got good beer, schnitzel, and wurst sausage plates.”

“Prost on a slow weekday is a warm hug of an experience. The food is delicious and super hearty (so it ends up being a pretty good deal - we shared a jumbo pretzel for dinner with nothing else and still could barely finish it) and the beer selection is SO good. We went for the first time after going to Germany for the holidays and it’s really the only bar in Chicago I’ve been to that captures that jolly, friendly vibe of a small German Kneipe.”

“Delicious German bar food. If you have less than 4 people you probably only need 1/2 a pretzel, they are massive. The October fest beers are very tasty. When we went there was 11 on draft along with 15 other beers. If you’re a fan of German beer and food it’s a great spot.”

“We went here after a Cubs game. We walked to build up an appetite, about a 30min walk. Based on reviews and pictures of the food, we decided to give it a try. The portion of the food is awesome, you're definitely getting your money's worth. The schnitzel was huge but a bit dry which made the bite a bit harder than what I expected, the gravy helps a lot to soften the bite. The restaurant was a bit empty, which was odd because it was after a cubs game but we're glad it wasn't busy and we got served very quickly. Nonetheless we enjoyed it and we'll definitely come back to try other plates in the near future.”

“Staff was lovely, but a bit overwhelmed. Schnitzels unfortunately we're bland and wayyyy too thick - they need to be pounded out to half their thickness! Fun vibe with college kids having a good time - with many playing card games at their tables.”

“Really weird experience we had at Prost, I've been before and it's always been a fine place to grab a beer and German bites. Service was really slow server forgot about our table and they ended up comping a sausage. What's weird was the bill. I genuinely have no idea where the $117 "discount" came from but when we went to tip, it was basing the tip off the $220 amount which was not our actual total (that was the $106) I don't know if it's a system error or trying to trick a customer into tipping almost double (recommended tip was $44 on 20%!) but it's sketchy.”
“Amazing spot, probably my fav bar in the city. Huge shoutout to Jake, Lucas and Nick, who keep me coming back every week! With such a large selection of beers, it’s great to have servers who can answer questions on them all I recommend the wurst platter, the burger and any cider (or lager) they have on tap”
“The baby pretzel was more than large enough for three adults with small appetites.”
“Love this place - the food and service. Danis always great!”
“Good food, good beer, and a fun atmosphere. It felt like the perfect stop after l getting to see Germany play live in Chicago. ⚽️ 🇩🇪 🍻”
