Aloha Eats — one of Lincoln Park's strongest asian spots. The walls could tell stories. The recipes feel handed down, not invented. "the loco moco was delicious and creamy, while the spam katsu musubi was the perfect balance of crunchy, salty" — Efe Sobotie

“Fantastic experience and delicious food”
Around 8pm the place was almost empty but the kitchen was really busy with delivery orders.

“Everyone needs this mom and pop Hawaiian gem on their radar.”
Everyone needs this mom and pop Hawaiian gem on their radar! It’s one of those perfect Chicago finds you stumble upon on a walk. Everything we ordered was fantastic and the homemade macaroni salad tastes like something your Granny would make! We will definitely be back and highly recommend the place!

An absolute gem! The food is authentic, as well as very good. Our last time here we ordered the Chicken Katsu, Moco Loco, and Pork with Cabbage (Poa). *Chicken Katsu: this is obviously what they are known for in one of their most popular dishes. It never disappoints *Moco Loco: for those unaware, this is kind of like Salisbury steak served over white rice with a fried egg on top. It tasted like it was straight from the island. *Pork with Cabbage: This one is a sleeper item on the menu. The pork is so moist and has a subtle smokiness. It does not require additional sauces, but you can use the Katsu sauce. It comes shredded with the cabbage, dusted and mixed together. *Spam Musubi: another must-have item if you’re a traditionalist. Grilled spam wrapped like a large piece of sushi lol. It’s a piece of spam over rice with a thin seaweed wrap around the middle. Just like anywhere in Lincoln Park, parking can be a bit chaotic. You might have to circle the block once or go down a side street, but you can definitely find something.

Ordered the mini Mochiko Chicken, an order of spam musubi, and a can of soda for 23$. Honestly, a 23$ well spent. They note that food takes a few minutes which I appreciate having the heads up about. Everything was hot and fresh and there’s good amounts of seating around. Will definitely be coming back to try more!

“Hafa Adai and Aloha!!”
Hafa Adai and Aloha!!! BBQ (all of them) and Loco Moco was great. And also the Spam Musubi and Portuguese sausage plate was very good. Love the island style foods. Very friendly staff and excellent service. My family and I visit Aloha Eats every time we are in Chicago. Si Yu’us Ma’ase and Mahalo!!!

“Very tasty Chicken Katsu.”
Very tasty Chicken Katsu! Aloha Eats has a small kitchen, so there was a 15 minute wait, but it was definitely worth it. And while the price of $16 for a meal is a bit high, the portion size basically makes it two meals.

FIRE! The bbq chicken was tender and flavorful and cooked to perfection. The katsu, both pork and chicken, was breaded precisely and paired with the katsu sauce flawlessly. The bbq beef was tender, sweet and chopped up to mix with the rice. And of course, the Mac salad. It was not too sweet, yet had just the right amount of sweetness to curve your craving. I’m mad at myself for not visiting sooner.

“We had a perfect meal at Aloha Eats.”
We had a perfect meal at Aloha Eats. The food took us back to our trip to hawaii. It's so great to find authentic hawaiian food in the city. Their food is definitely different from your typical casual counter service restaurant. A complete nutritious meal that covers most of the food groups. Portions are a good size, and even the mini plates are enough to fill you up. Here's what we ate: Hurricane fries (highly recommended) fries topped with Teriyaki glaze, Sriracha mayo, and Furikake (rice seasoning). Shrimp Shumai (really delicious with a dash of soy sauce). Pork Katsu mini plate Fried shrimp mini plate Fried shrimp with bbq beef combo plate Most plates come with rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage. You get to pick your protein. If you're looking for something different that is nutritious and delicious, be sure to stop by Aloha Eats

“A taste of home away from home.”
A taste of home away from home! Chicago’s first mix plate and spam musubi who celebrates their 20 years August-September, 2024. They are the real deal, from the islands, who continue the legacy of their aloha for local island food of Hawai’i in Chicago. Legacy-owned! Not Corporate-Grabbing. Communities. Not Commodities. E ho’omaika’i Ivan and Isabel for holding the line. Your Dad, smiles upon you both🙏🏽💕

Worth the wait! We got the BBQ beef lunch plate, omg it was delicious! It's so much food too, honestly could be split between two people depending on how hungry you are. I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes. They also have a tofu katsu cutlet for the vegetarians and the sauce that comes with it is so good.

“Truly a hidden gem.”
Truly a hidden gem! You must give aloha eats a try. The food is amazing once you have the first bite you will want to order more. I will say get the pork Katsu and have them serve you less rice and it will be even better. And the gravy is legit worth it!
