Morry's Deli — a brunch & breakfast spot in Hyde Park. Nothing about this place is trying to impress you, and that's the point. Zo Wesson: "Even his disdain for my visage won't keep me from coming back for some of the best sandwiches in the City"

local place. we got the corned beef and roast beef triple decker #2 sandwhich. Astronomical. Was so good.
Great sandwiches and grill. Reasonably priced. The hot dog and Cole slaw was delicious.
Had it delivered, so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere, but the Chicken Noodle Soup and BLT I got were both freakin fantastic.
I cannot recommend enough. I wasn’t expecting much going in but I was pleasantly surprised.

Morry’s has been one of my favorite Hyde Park spots since I was a kid. You can never go wrong with a Morry’s rueben, hot corned beef, Chicago dog, or a dipped Italian beef with hot giardiniera.

“I ordered a breakfast sandwich and changed out the bagel for French bread.”
I ordered a breakfast sandwich and changed out the bagel for French bread. I also asked that they add ham and use provolone instead of American cheese. it was so good although I will say they should have added some type of mayo or something to on the bread. Overall great sandwich and this was my first time here.

“What a wonderful Deli this was.”
What a wonderful Deli this was. We were visiting the museum just up the road and decided to walk to this Deli for lunch. Totally worth it. No line. Great service. Great price. No pressure. I had the pastrami, she had the chicago dog and my daughter had the cold cut sub. The cole slaw was great. I truly enjoyed the pastrami. It really hit the spot. Everything was wrapped togo. We ate outside, due to the pandemic, there was no indoor seating. I really wish we had a Deli like it where I live.

“Incredible Chicago dog.”
Incredible Chicago dog. The dog in the photo made the trip back to the AirBnB so it got a little... Marinated. It was perfect. The staff was friendly, helpful, kind, and quick. The food was amazing. Clearly a local spot and for good reason. Need a Chicago dog? Hit up Morry's for the real deal.

Triple Decker #1 servers with a pickle and coleslaw Sandwich was delicious(filling), thought it would be enough to share between 2 people(nope) , we also ordered fries with a cup of cheese , reminds me of those grocery stores with the restaurants towards the back , I did not eat the coleslaw

“It's very fortuitous to have such a great neighborhood deli.”
It's very fortuitous to have such a great neighborhood deli. The corned beef and pastrami rivals the legendary Katz's Deli in New York. It's quite popular with the neighborhood senior citizens who use it as a meeting spot and to buy their lottery tickets. The one issue I have is that the counter man who took my order and made my sandwich seemed quite annoyed at my presence. Maybe he wanted to be somewhere else. Even his disdain for my visage won't keep me from coming back for some of the best sandwiches in the City.

“Sandwiches were ok, maybe I was expecting something more.”
Sandwiches were ok, maybe I was expecting something more. Chicago dog my wife got was better and better value than the sandwiches the rest of us got. For all of the peppers on the Italian beef sandwich, it didn’t have much flavor and the bun was nearly soaked thru/falling apart after a bit. Was not far from the Museum of Science, so it worked out as a late lunch. Lastly, bring cash otherwise there is a 3% up charge for credit cards.

“Your typical over the counter deli shop with grilled options on the menu too.”
Your typical over the counter deli shop with grilled options on the menu too. Overall, I’ve had much better sandwiches at other mom N pops, chains and even at some grocery stores; but, the convenience of this spot being a couple blocks away makes it a go to option. Plus side, they have a wide variety of bread options and don’t limit you on the meat options.

“I ordered a Hot Corned Beef Sandwich and was seriously let down.”
I ordered a Hot Corned Beef Sandwich and was seriously let down. There was barely any meat—half the sandwich was basically just bread. For $13, that’s absolutely ridiculous. The flavor was decent, but definitely not worth the price. If I wanted half a sandwich, I would’ve gone somewhere cheaper. Save your money—you’ll be disappointed.
