“This food is GOOD. One of the best soul food buffets I have had! You get as much as they tray can hold!!! But, I forgot my Salmon croquettes so I don’t know how those tasted, but everything else! Superb! The cabbage, greens, mac and cheese, fried chicken, steak….whooooo. I will def make this a visit whenever I go home to Chicago to visit! I wish I knew about it when I lived there, lol Staff very friendly and a quaint atmosphere. Love my city and I am a foodie, so this is truly a must try if y’all looking for some good soul food in Chicago!”

“Applause to the manager for being kind and wonderful and acknowledging his customers and checking to make sure that everything is good and being mannerable. Pleased to feel like I matter. It was a breakfast and dinner -all you can eat buffet .”

“The food was outstanding! I been looking for a nice soul food restaurant with authentic food and an overall good experience! Amazing staff and amazing food! I’ll be back!”

“Was in the search for some banana pudding and came across this spot and the banana pudding here is delicious!! Hands down best banana pudding in the area! I’ve been a repeat customer!”

“Wonderful experience! Enjoy the service and the food! Very friendly people!”

“Great historical establishment. They have A+ soul food and Kool-Aid. Yes I said Kool-Aid. The choice of 6+ meats(BBQ tips and turkey legs, meat loaf, fried chicken, baked and smothered chicken, and jerk chicken) 15+sides (beets, cole slaw, potato salad, two types of green salads, yams, dressing, baked beans, spinach, turnip/mustard, cabbage, collard greens, green beans, tomatoes, onions, peppers and I am forgetting something. Desserts-peach cobbler, banana pudding, apple cobbler...I have to stop I'm getting full just naming the food items. Historical people have performed and dined in the walls of this gem. MUST VISIT”

“Wow! Pearls place is the place to eat great authentic soul food! The service is great the portions are generous! We go practically every Sunday!”

“A little pricey for a buffet but it was explained that it's higher on holidays. We went on father's day, $42.99, desserts aren't included either but were discounted. They had extra items on the menu that aren't usually on the buffet such as oxtail and pot roast which affected the price. With all of that being said the food was great, seasoned to perfection! The cornbread and rolls were a little bland. It's small on the inside and very busy which led a few to leave. All in all I would go back it's a historic place and deserves to be visited”

“Forgot why I stopped ordering from this place, I ordered the chicken and waffles and each time the waffles are extremely soft and the chicken is nasty, I ordered scrambled eggs over medium with cheddar cheese. The eggs were hard and burnt. Will never order from this restaurant ever again”
