VAL WAS EXCELLENT ! Came out on my birthday from out of town and after a late night I wanted some shrimp. This place is 24 hours, let's start off with that! The shrimp tastes fresh hot and juicy and I live near Maryland. Picture that!

“Nostalgia hit me as soon as I walked in.”

Nostalgia hit me as soon as I walked in. This place was a staple for my mom when I was a kid. They've made some changes since I was last here years ago. But there's just enough to make me remember the old Lawrence's. I noticed they have outside seating now. The ladies at the register greeted me and were patient while I looked at the menu. The wait wasn't too bad. My food came out HOT! I only can attest to the fried clams. I didn't try the other food. The clams were great! The tartar sauce was really good, too. My mom said the fish and shrimp were excellent and she can't wait for me to go back for her. Still a solid spot 👌🏾

“If you have never been here you must.”

If you have never been here you must! The food is so fresh and deliciously seasoned. I would highly recommend the fried calamari. It was the best calamari I’ve had in Chicago. We got the catfish which is really good and the large shrimp. Definitely make it a combo because the fries are also the best here. They are those really good crispy fries that are soft on the inside and like flaky at the same time.

“Came here for dinner with the family.”

Came here for dinner with the family. There were 12 of us all together. The staff took our orders quickly and there were plenty of open tables. My husband and I ordered regular catfish strips and a full large shrimp combo. This was reasonably priced and was less than $40. Our food was prepared timely and all 12 of us were happy. When we visit family in Chicago we always come here.

“I needed some good, hearty food so I stopped in.”

I needed some good, hearty food so I stopped in. I ordered the smaller sizes of Pearch and separately Scallops. Delicious. I'd say this restaurant ranks amongst the best of those which are it's competitors. The staff got my order out in a timely fashion, my oder was well prepared, I have no complaints. I will return.

Excellent meal. Great deal. Love fried catfish with cornmeal. The shrimp were great. They did take a while on our order because apparently didn't drop the catfish and also means our shrimp was waiting and got a bit cold. Also stood at the counter way too long without being noticed (asking for condiments). Not the best cocktail sauce ever (my opinion). The fries were awesome. Highly recommend. Great option and doesn't break the bank where many spots are very pricey in Chicago/downtown. The store is great. Love the outdoor seating area (though it was too cold the day I went).

Been coming here for 20+yrs! Highly recommended!! Great for late night snack, especially after 2am :) Always always call before showing up unless you have time to kill(always packed w/ customers)! I always call to order, got there no waiting just pay and pick up order and leave :) oyster, shrimp....! Their spice sauce & cocktail sauce are awesome!

This is a great place to get fresh seafood in Chicago. This place is a good balance of price and food quality. On one extreme other restaurants charge you an arm and leg for fresh oysters and you can't even afford rent after going home. Other extreme restaurants fry fish for cheap but are takeout and cash only and make you wait forever. This seems like a good balance. There is ample seating, decently clean bathrooms, and quick cooking. Fried oysters feel like melted butter. Their sauces are all pretty good as well.

Went here after a late night concert, and I loved the sea panting on the walls and the statues and the staff was super cool! I got the cod, it was great, I was hoping it might be in a bit more of a beer batter rather than a panko batter but it was still great, hot, fresh, and I will be back! My friend got the banana pudding and said it was super whip creamy and satisfying!

“Visited after baseball game.”

Visited after baseball game. Parking lot available, accessible establishment. There is outdoor seating with sn overall laid back feel. There was a wait. Order the well seasoned dill pickles. Just the right amount of dill and complementary seasoning. Fried to perfection, had to place a 2nd order because I ate the 1st batch. Ate the fried catfish and fried oyster at home. Both were seasoned and cook well. I had cocktail sauce for the oysters and mild sauce for the catfish.
