Yee's Cantonese Kitchen(阿二美食)

3.879 reviews ·Opens at 11AM

Yee’s Cantonese Kitchen is a tiny, family-run Chinatown gem serving authentic, home-style dishes—regulars especially rave about the house special white-cut chicken, pepper pork tripe chicken, sweet-and-sour pork, and clay-pot rice. The intimate, family-style room feels local rather than touristy, but seating is very limited: large parties should reserve ahead, and holiday or peak-time waits can be long; some diners also find dishes salty or inconsistent.

This is an authentic Cantonese restaurant. Overall, the food is a little salty, but the flavors are good. The restaurant is quite small, so if you're planning to visit on a weekend with a large group, I recommend making a reservation in advance.

This is a comfort home cook place. If you’re looking for different dishes than what’s offered in Chinatown. This is good option. It’s very small place with 3 big tables holds more than 6, the rest are small tables of 4-2 people. Highly recommend to make reservations if you have a large party. The food is definitely the reason I’m here for. Know what you want to order and it won’t go wrong. The sweet n sour pork is the best I’ve had.

Came in with a friend who heard others rave about it. I regretted the moment I entered this restaurant. The fish prepared was not fresh. The pea sprouts were stir fried to a burnt flavor, and the kitchen staff didn’t help remake. The eggplant casserole didn’t have any chicken bits nor salted fish flavor as a classic eggplant casserole would. Nearly nothing tasted good but the bill costed similar to comparatively much better restaurants. I would avoid this restaurant.

Not our first visit, but it will def be our last. We arrived at 5 PM and waited over 30 minutes without a single dish being served while our hungry children cried. The waitress was dismissive; when I asked for an update, she wouldn't even make eye contact. The food quality has also declined significantly since our previous visit, which is especially disappointing given we are regular customers who typically order a lot.

Be careful with this restaurant. They will scam you ! The waitress kept recommending the roast goose which was $45 displayed on the wall. But when the bill came, it was $90. They then explained that $45 was the price for a quarter of the goose. Such a big scam !

My go to Cantonese restaurant. They have the best house special chicken among all Cantonese restaurant in Chicago. If you are Cantonese and have high expectations for 白斩鸡,this is the place. FYI, very limited seating, so I do take out most of the time. And I always try to avoid ordering to go or dine in during any holidays because there will be long wait time. And I totally understand since its a family restaurant.
