Naf Naf Middle Eastern Grill in Chinatown wins regulars with hefty, fresh-made bowls, steak-and-falafel plates, crispy fries, spicy hummus, and especially its “mind-blowing” chicken pita with warm, freshly made bread. The clean, friendly space is ideal for a quick, balanced meal or takeout, with memorable views of Willis Tower and passing trains; however, service can occasionally be slow or orders incomplete.

I usually get the plate, steak and chicken mix. The meat is seasoned just right and the rice is flavorful and cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten at many Mediterranean restaurants, but no one has better naan.

Warm your PITAS!!! I didn't give 5 stars because of two reasons: the first being that the pita was cold and it would have been nice if they warmed it up for takeout. The second is that the sauce containers are small and not enough portions of sauce for the entire dinner plate option. I recommend getting two sauces since the container size for the sauce is a very small portion. I had the garlic sauce which is their most popular and also had the lemon sauce. The garlic sauce was like a vinaigrette went very well with the chicken shawarma and pita. The lemon sauce was more creamy and was perfect with the falafels. My partner had the tahini sauce and it was hella salty. Would not recommend. And also had the harissa sauce which is their spiciest but wasn't really spicy. The falafels were my favorite part of the dinner plate. They were bland flavor wise but they were crispy and crunchy on the outside and moist and soft in the inside when you bite into it. I used the lemon sauce to dip them in so I was okay with the blandness of them. I like that the dinner plate comes with two protein options. It was nice to sample the chicken shawarma and falafels. Added some olives, shredded beets, and a pickle spear when I got home and used my own hummus too. They do offer hummus and pickles there but I preferred mine at home. The pitas are excellent when warmed up in the microwave for 30 seconds just wish they warmed them up at the restaurant. I felt very satisfied with the portion size and it was a light and fulfilling dinner for the price, was around $26-28 for two dinner plates to go. Will be coming back.

I ordered through the DoorDash app 12/4/25 around 5:45 PM on Thursday afternoon. The order was ready early, and pickup was quick and easy. I chose the “Build Your Own Plate” and customized it with chicken shawarma, purple cabbage, sumac onions, pickles, and the chopped salad (tomato/cucumber mix), along with the rice-and-couscous combo and a scoop of hummus. Because it was a BOGO special, my husband was able to try one as well. I selected the 3 included sauces: nafziki, spicy s’khug, and garlic, and added an additional harissa sauce on the side since he prefers more heat. The portion size was a bit smaller than what I’m used to, but it worked fine for a single serving or a light meal with leftovers. There wasn’t anything wrong with the food, but it also wasn’t great. Nothing stood out in terms of taste or freshness. I prefer bolder, richer flavors with more depth, and unfortunately nothing in my dish offered that. The colors were somewhat vibrant, and the vegetables were mostly fresh, but lacked any noticeable flavor, spice profile, or the crispness I enjoy. Even without the preferred brighter notes of lemon or mint, the expected cumin, coriander, garlic, or other herbs and seasonings were clearly missing. The chicken wasn’t particularly juicy and didn’t carry a clear flavor profile. I knew it was shawarma, but even those spices were muted. It didn’t have the depth of grilled or charred chicken, nor the tenderness or richness of marinated or stewed chicken. Overall, it tasted rather bland and not flavor-forward. The sauces were honestly the star of the show. They added much-needed flavor and moisture, and the garlic sauce in particular elevated the dish. But because the sauces are add-ons, the plate itself lacked depth without them. The ordering process was smooth and efficient, but based on this experience, I’m not sure I would return. I may try it again if there’s another special, just to see if the quality, freshness and flavor is better

Ordered delivery. Two, build your own bowls. I had a hummus base ($0.65 upcharge), it felt light on thr hummus and ingredients. But overall it tasted fine.
