“Been coming to this MingHin location for years, and the food has always been consistently solid. The dim sum selection is extensive, with plenty of classic Cantonese dishes as well. The dumplings were all well made with flavorful fillings, and the crispy pork belly was a standout from the BBQ selections. A convenient downtown option for dim sum without making the trip to Chinatown.”
“Pleasant surprise! Who knows the best dim sum I had in America happened to be a random walk in in downtown Chicago. I’m Chinese myself living in NYC and lived in guangzhou (known for dim sum) for two years, so yeah I can tell the good ones from the mediocres. This is an upscale place with everything perfectly made! Even the cocktails were great.”

“Very delicious Chinese food. My mom ordered something like a pork bone podridge with maybe bone marrow that she really liked. I ordered vegetable dumplings that were a little sweet and Delicious! There were 3 of them. I really liked the digital menu because the pictures don't lie. You get exactly what's portrayed there. We also ordered milk tea with tapioca for like 4 USD and they gave us free Jazmin tea and water. The tea was also delicious and it helped us get warm because outside the wind was very cold. I really liked the decorations and ambience. It wasn't too noisy nor too quiet. When we finished they gave us two fortune cookies 🥠 and two delicious smelling bigger cookies so I recommend saving some Jazmin tea for the end. It was clean, well lit, comfortable and they have free WiFi!”
“We loved it! A friend recommended it and it didn’t disappoint!! We copied another table’s order — it felt a bit risky, but it was totally worth it. It took us out of our comfort zone and we ended up loving every single dish. We had the shrimp dumplings, rice crepe with fried donut, chicken feet, pork soup dumplings, deep-fried shrimp rolls, baby bok choy with oyster sauce, and hot & sour soup — everything was delicious”

“A great place for dim sum. Dim sum is a specialty Chinese (Cantonese) Breakfast food that includes a variety of dumplings, buns, noodles (fun), and desserts. The dishes comes in 3-4 small portions meant for sharing but I have visited both alone and with a group of friends. Of course Minghin also have other Chinese dishes besides dim sum. They have a great selection of Cantonese cuisine. Servers are very attentive. I always had a great time and the food is delicious. Attached are pictures for some dim sum: pan fried chive (savory) cakes and red bean jelly. I wrote the above review 7 years ago. Visited Dec 2025 and can definitely say standards are well kept. Still the go-to place for dim sum.”
“Given this is a chain I wasn’t expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised! It’s easy to find & order all sorts of specialty dishes including dim sum as they have Ipads with a logical UI. If you’re expecting Panda Express level don’t go here…it’s so much better. The freshness level was very high, whereas many Dim Sums simply reheat. The servings here are much closer the offerings found in mainland China. This specific location is very nice & hop skip & a jump from Mellenium Park. I recommend this place.”
