Mei's
Mei’s is a low-key South Loop favorite for flavorful Chinese and Asian comfort food, especially the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, pork pan-fried dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and mapo tofu; dim sum, generous breakfasts, and late takeout add versatility. Its pretty, relaxed dining room suits families, groups, hotel guests, and casual dates, with notably warm service. Dinner can be very quiet, and consistency and posted closing hours may vary.

“This is such a wholesome and beautiful place. Went here with my family and the service as well as the food was impeccable. Not to mention the staff were quick to get us a table, they were kind too like they actually valued doing their job, constantly checking in with us etc… I don’t usually write reviews but I had to this time to let everyone know how delicious and yummy this food was. It was surprisingly empty considering how amazing the quality was. My brother, who is a very picky eater, even said the fried pork dumplings were one of the best things he had ever tasted. If I could rate this 6 stars, I would. More people need to come here.”

“Came here as we were staying at a hotel nearby to enjoy some delicious food and we were not disappointed. Great pork dumplings, Pad Thai with shrimp and the beef noodle soup was delicious. Overall a real pleasant experience.”

“Came here from Boston on a business trip, staying at the Hilton and the food was excellent. The dumplings were presented in a very unique way. I have never seen before and they also tasted uniquely excellent. I highly recommend the pork pan fried dumplings. Look at that picture! I hope you go and have a great meal like I did. Emin was my waiter and he was fantastic.”

“Our experience here was exceptional. The cuisine was delectable, and Emin enhanced our visit by providing complimentary appetizers that were truly outstanding. We highly recommend this place.”

“I visited here on a short trip to Chicago last week. It was recommended by the hotel I stayed at, which was the Hilton Garden Inn next door. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was glad to see some dim sum when I looked at the menu online, and it didn't disappoint. I got the shrimp dumplings, scallion pancakes, and char siu bao. Everything was flavorful, and the chili oil and other provided condiments were a very appreciated addition. I will say, I expected more people to be eating inside at 8AM on a Monday, so I was a little worried that it might not be very good, but I was glad to be proven wrong. I think most people who were staying at the Best Western it's connected to were visiting Paris Baguette instead. However, if you are staying at either of the hotels, it's worth a visit especially for the dim sum.”

“Had a light night flight and came in around 9 and they were still happy to do a take out meal for me. My food was hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. I got the general Tsos chicken and the strawberry cake for dessert. The cake looked like a piece of art and was amazing!”

“Beautiful restaurant. Food was good and atmosphere and staff was great. Came in on a Wednesday night so no wait and very quiet. Guests of Homewood Suites gets 10% off and they had special of a free dimsum order with any entree.”

“Really yummy dumplings just super pricey for what you get. You get a discount if you stay at the BW Grant hotel. The restaurant is pretty and aesthetically pleasing especially for photos also”
