“Highly highly highly recommend the Gnocchi - fresh mushroom, butter and sage - super soft and fluffy - each gnocchi melts in your mouth, they are HUGE fluffy pillows - rich and incredible flavors topped with cheese, making it slightly creamy but not too overpowering - big contrast compared to other restaurants that make tonato-based & slightly chewier ones Highlights: - Chef is french-trained - all housemade pastas - huge patio - large selection of wine - amazing staff, like Renee the manager”
I ended up here after asking Reddit where to find the best fresh pasta in Chicago. Next time I will ask someone else.
We went to this place for a team dinner.

“We came in for restaurant week and it was our first time here.”
We came in for restaurant week and it was our first time here. My favorite was the butternut squash tortellini with brown butter sage sauce- it was rich, buttery and well balanced. I had the cacio pepe as my entree- it was my first time trying the dish so not sure how to compare it. It was also rich, not overly peppery, but definitely was full after a few bites- come on an empty stomach! The creme brûlée had some lemon flavor which went well with the berries. Overall pleasant experience. Will need to try their red sauce pastas next time!

“My wife and I have been dying to try Pasta Venetta — we live just down the street and walk our dogs...”
My wife and I have been dying to try Pasta Venetta — we live just down the street and walk our dogs past it almost every day, so the hype’s been building for a while. Safe to say… it delivered. Actually, scratch that — it blew us away. The cacio e pepe was creamy and rich with just the right bite, the corn truffle ravioli was straight-up luxurious, and even the shrimp pizza, which felt like a wildcard, ended up being a total knockout. Every dish hit. Our waiter Axel was fantastic — super chill, knew the menu inside and out, and nailed every single recommendation without missing a beat. Definitely cracked my top 3 spots for Italian in Chicago — no question. Pasta Venetta is the real deal.

“We had a nice time at Pasta Veneta.”
We had a nice time at Pasta Veneta! The menu had a good variety of options, and we especially liked the burrata — super fresh and creamy. We tried two different pasta dishes, and both were solid, with the truffle gnocchi standing out as our favorite. The red wine blend paired really well with the meal. Overall, a good spot for a relaxed dinner with some tasty Italian bites.

“Food, service, ambiance, all 11/10 at this spot.”
Food, service, ambiance, all 11/10 at this spot. Authentic quality pasta in west loop and such a beautiful interior and patio. The seafood pasta and cacio e pepe were delicious and the burrata and homemade focaccia are must orders, along with the sea bass ceviche! Will definitely be back this summer.

“I had a great evening trying out a good portion of the offerings at Pasta Veneta.”
I had a great evening trying out a good portion of the offerings at Pasta Veneta. The drinks were great, and the service was fantastic. I definitely recommend the croquettes and the baked goat cheese to start. I ordered the gnocchi with short rib ragu and was blown away! I don’t normally enjoy gnocchi, but something told me I’d like this one. I tried my friend’s dishes as well, and can easily say the carbonara is the best I’ve ever tasted. We shared four wonderful desserts, but the chef brought over a tray of miniature cookies and macaroons to finish. I would definitely recommend Pasta Veneta!!

It’s rooftop and patio season in Chicago and this spot has thee perfect patio for you to enjoy while having some of their delicious Italian Food! You can watch them making the different pastas right inside of the restaurant, which is super cool! They also have a full bar in the restaurant where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with your delicious meal! My rigatoni was so good. The pesto sauce on there was perfect and the homemade taste of the pasta makes such a big impact on the meal! I also got some homemade fig ice cream and wow! It was first time having it and it was soooooo good, plus it had pieces of fresh figs on it. Loved it! This newer addition to the Fulton Market area is perfect for the summer! Pay them a visit and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you! Enjoy!

“We just checked out Pasta Veneta, located in Chicago’s Fulton Market.”
We just checked out Pasta Veneta, located in Chicago’s Fulton Market. They’re the newest sister restaurant to Osteria Del Pastaio, and they’re serving authentic Italian cuisine, including homemade pasta, freshly baked bread and artisanal dessert. The interior space is charming, with big windows that let the sunlight pour in, and they have a spacious outdoor patio, lined with pretty, colorful flowers. It’s super cute and the perfect destination for a date night with that special someone. During our visit, we ordered several menu items, with our favorites being the Bread Service and Tapenade of the Day, the Avocado & Asparagus Salad in Truffle Vinaigrette, the Frutti Di Mare and the Profiteroles. We really enjoyed the soft, delicious Bread, which we proceeded to dunk in pretty much everything! The Salad was super fresh and we can never get enough truffle. The Frutti Di Mare came loaded with succulent pan-seared shrimp, scallop and lobster atop black and white spaghetti tossed in a slightly spicy red sauce. So yummy! Finally, the Profiteroles were presented beautifully and were delightful. We also got a couple Dirty Martinis during our visit and each enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir. Both paired perfectly with our Italian feast. This was truly a special little evening. I can’t wait to spend more time on their sunny patio this summer and explore more of their lovely wine list!

“Really enjoyed my dining experience here and it exceeded all my expectations.”
Really enjoyed my dining experience here and it exceeded all my expectations! The service and ambiance were great and the prices were very reasonable for being in the Fulton Market area. The food was delicious, we started with the focaccia and roasted meatballs, and both were great! The pasta dishes were wonderful, the lobster ravioli was my favorite of the night! Ended with the tiramisu which was also delicious. Definitely a hidden gem in Fulton Market, I will definitely be back to try more of the pasta dishes!
