il Carciofo — honest italian in Fulton Market. Polished but not pretentious. The cocktail program is serious. "The bread was perfectly crispy" — Vanessa Budzinski

“We loved Il Carciofo so much!”
We loved Il Carciofo so much!! Pictured are the Prociutto Di Parma, Abbacchio Alla Scottadito (lamb), Fritto Misto, Margherita Pizza, Rigatoni Alla Carbonara, Gnocchetti, Zucca, Pistachio Gelato, and Tiramisu. Not pictured is the chicken special and the Coppa E Fica (figs). We enjoyed everything but the chicken and figs were a hit because they didn’t get pictured. Personally, I loved the rigatoni alla carbonara, lamb, pizza, and pistachio gelato (so smooth and delicious). The bread was also amazing. We ordered more because it was so delicious. This is definitely a place to just order a bunch of different menu items and to share because so many things are good. I’m excited to go back soon and get the dishes with truffle added next time!!

“Fantastic food and wine.”
Fantastic food and wine. Would love to eat the ragú every day of my life. Definitely a louder scene type of restaurant. Great place to feel cozy in the winter.

“Had a wonderful second visit to il Carciofo.”
Had a wonderful second visit to il Carciofo! Some of the favs of the night were the artichokes, of course, the pesto suplee, and the carbonara. The vibes were cozy and perfect for a fall girls night out. We ended our meal with the tiramisu and it was just as great as the meal itself. Will definitely be back for a third time.

“Truly unique flavors alongside traditional Italian hits.”
Truly unique flavors alongside traditional Italian hits. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The wine selection was unique, with a long list by the glass. Don't skip the ribeye- it was the highlight of the meal. The homemade bread had a perfectly crunchy crust and pillowy crumb, sending the Prosciutto di parma, panzanella salad, and Mortadella pizza over the top.

“Learnt many new words for delicious Italian food: suppli = croquettes from risotto rice, agnolotti =stuffed ravioli.”
Learnt many new words for delicious Italian food: suppli = croquettes from risotto rice, agnolotti =stuffed ravioli. All the items we tried was great and perfect home made aldente pasta! Inside of the restaurant was quiet and busy and laud, we enjoyed our table on the patio as it was a bit calmer vibe. The service was fast and our waiter helped us with the menu. Definitely will be back to try Casio e pepe!

“Repeat diner: Usually sit at the main bar early with no reservation, by 7:00 the Resto will probably be full.”
Repeat diner: Usually sit at the main bar early with no reservation, by 7:00 the Resto will probably be full! Summer seasonal pea dish is light and flavorful. Love the fried artichoke-not as fried, in a good way, than I had in Italy. The cacio e pepi pasta is always cooked perfect as was the sauce. I wasn’t able to try Suppli in Rome due to tomato intolerance and glad to try this pesto version, was lightly fried and was risotto and cheese in the center, I thought I was back in Italy! Excellent and efficient service from the bar and servers. While taking photos I noticed the Chef’s Kitchen bar, the Main bar is just in the entrance, the host recommended making a reservation and requesting a seat there next time. A very enjoyable experience!

“My boyfriend and I came in on a Monday night at 5:30.”
My boyfriend and I came in on a Monday night at 5:30. The restaurant was getting ready for the dinner rush so they offered us a spot at the chef’s counter. The vibes at the counter were great - watching the chefs do their thing and make delicious looking dishes right in front of us. We ordered a few dishes to share. Started with the fried artichokes: scrumptious! Seriously one of the best things we had. We then had the ragu arancini: omggg 10/10. We then shared the mortadella pizza. The bread was perfectly crispy. The spread on there was sweet and paired so well with the mortadella. While waiting for our last dish, the spicy pasta, it was taking awhile. I think they noticed we had been sitting with empty plates for longer than usual so they brought us over a plate of the potatoes on the house. Great customer service and the potatoes were one of the best things we ate that night. Lastly came our pasta with guanciale: totally worth the wait. We ended the night sharing the vanilla gelato. Do not leave here without trying the gelato! Overall, a really great date night and we will definitely be back!

“We ordered the artichoke, suppli ragu, lamb ribs, carbonara, ravioli pomodoro, and mortadella pizza...”
We ordered the artichoke, suppli ragu, lamb ribs, carbonara, ravioli pomodoro, and mortadella pizza (it's really a sandwich). The artichoke, lamb ribs and mortadella pizza were the hits. All excellent and I would eat multiple orders of (especially the ribs). The carbonara was a bit on the salty side, which ended up pairing well with the pomodoro. The suppli was good, just not as good as everything else. For dessert we got gianduja gelato and the maritozzi. The gelato was excellent while the maritozzi was very plain and boring. Overall, I would easily go again, order the artichoke, lamb ribs, and mortadella and then try some of their other offerings. Great spot for a date night or a group of friends.
