“Mike was correct in recommending the Pasta al forno, It was delicious as was the pillowy and creamy gnocchi”
I am not the person who leaves reviews much, but I think I should. 1 star is generous for me. I ordered a pasta.

“INCREDIBLE experience.”
INCREDIBLE experience. This restaurant was such a delight to visit. I visited with my girlfriend and we brought a very nice Italian white wine with us. For anyone that appreciates a high quality meal made with love, don’t miss visiting this restaurant. The ingredients are imported from Italy, and the staff and chef create a one of a kind experience, in a unique intimate setting. All the food is home made in house, and the desserts are to die for. I definitely will be going back in the spring.

“Ciro is truly a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable, personal dining experience.”
Ciro is truly a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable, personal dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the small, intimate setting makes you feel like a welcomed guest, especially since you can watch the chefs work their magic right there. The BYOB policy is a huge bonus, allowing us to perfectly pair the focused menu with a beautiful bottle of Napa Valley wine we brought along. Ciro himself is a friendly and wonderful host, ensuring everyone feels taken care of. We started with the beautifully simple Focaccia Evoo and the flavorful Nanello. The Spaghetto con Pamodorino Fresco was a highlight; the texture of the pasta was absolutely spot-on and perfectly complemented the fresh sauce. However, the undisputed star of the night was the Canolo. It was hands-down the best I have ever tasted—the creamy, silky smooth ricotta filling paired with the subtle sweetness of candied orange was pure perfection. Whether you’re planning a fun group dinner or a romantic date night, I highly recommend Ciro for its amazing food and warm hospitality.

“A true hidden gem in Oak Park.”
A true hidden gem in Oak Park! It feels like you are stepping right into Italy. Delicious and authentic Italian food made with ingredients direct from Italy! Ciro and his staff are so welcoming, kind, passionate, and entertaining. We even showed Ciro the fresh pasta we made at home and he was excited to tell us his secrets to make it even better next time! I can’t wait to come back, the tiramisu is to die for!

“Beautiful, from scratch Italian kitchen with quality ingredients.”
Beautiful, from scratch Italian kitchen with quality ingredients. The owner is very friendly and truly cares about the food he makes. Always happy to stop in and grab a bite. Also, they have the best cannoli I've ever had. The candied orange peels are game changing.

“I never do restaurant reviews.”
I never do restaurant reviews. I don't usually eat anywhere that is unique enough to get one. I'm doing it because I appreciate when I see a passion project. Delicious food. Friendly service. Forces you to slow down and savor the meal. I usually don't like a lot of sauce on pasta because it just overwhelms the simple saltiness of the noodles and is too rich. Not in this case, it was just enough. We ordered more bread because we didn't want the remaining sauce to go to waste. The wait is not poor service, it's due to care about quality. It's nice to be in an environment where the people making the food aren't having to frantically get out food in a timely way to a hundred+ people. Not American/typical Italian size portions that make you feel ill afterwards. I always thought Italian places prided themselves on gigantic portions so this was a refreshing change. It also wasn't so small that it felt pretentious. It's a meal, not a food painting or a tiny edible sculpture. Come hungry but not "all you can eat" hungry. For ambiance it was nice to have the private window seat but then you miss out on seeing them make the food. Guess we'll have to go back and get the other half of the experience. Thank you. We'll be back. Allow yourself about 90 minutes.

Whether or not you close your eyes, you’re instantly transported to Italy with your first bite. The pesto is rich and thick, the energy is lively and familial, the tiramisu is airy and decadent. You absolutely must dine at Ciro!

“What a treat! One minute you think you're in Illinois, the next minute you are in Italy! This is...”
What a treat! One minute you think you're in Illinois, the next minute you are in Italy! This is not the Italian restaurant you've been to recently. Everything is made from scratch, pasta made in-house, and the chef/owner whose name is on the top of the menu, well he is also Italian. The menu is based on Southern Italian dishes and holds authenticity in the highest value. The menu is small for now but they are committed to growing the menu when they can find the correct ingredients and maintain the signature quality. The food can be taken out easily because they started as a heat at home restaurant. This is because it's tiny! If you call ahead you can reserve one of the seats at the chef counter, and enjoy a wonderful experience. Mike was correct in recommending the Pasta al forno, It was delicious as was the pillowy and creamy gnocchi. The restaurant is BYOB so be sure to stop by the wine shop next door, they are also excellent. Remember I said everything is made in house? Well the desserts are too, get ready for the best tiramisu you have ever had. I promise. (Unless you had it at your grandmother's house in Italy)! Enjoy, this will be a treat! Godere!
