The pizza special I had (pork shoulder slices with small chunks of potato) was delicious, especially with the multigrain crust. My partner enjoyed his fungi pizza. We shared the tartufu dessert. We loved all of it. We don't get here a lot because of the reservation system they have (which is understandable). So it always feels like a special occasion when we do.

“Spacca Napoli lives up to its reputation as one of Chicago’s best Neapolitan pizza spots.”
Spacca Napoli lives up to its reputation as one of Chicago’s best Neapolitan pizza spots. The pizzas are beautifully balanced—soft, airy crust with just the right amount of char, high-quality ingredients, and classic flavors done right. The Margherita is a standout, with bright tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil, while the Diavola has a great kick without overpowering the dough. Beyond pizza, the menu feels thoughtfully curated, and the atmosphere is warm and unpretentious—lively but still comfortable for a relaxed meal. Service is friendly and efficient, even when the place is busy. It’s the kind of spot you’d happily return to again and again, whether you’re a pizza purist or just craving something genuinely well made.

“I feel lucky to live close to this place.”
I feel lucky to live close to this place! Best pizza I've had outside of Naples. The crust is superb and takes on a bit of the wood perfume from the oven. Had a diavola today but when I come with a group I'm a and have to try a slice off of everyone's plate.

“I drift back to this corner every few years or so, not because I forget it but because life makes me slow.”
I drift back to this corner every few years or so, not because I forget it but because life makes me slow. Yet every time I wander in, the reason’s clear as day, for pizza from this brick oven is worth the trip, the wait, the way. The crust is hand-shaped beauty, light and tender, crisp and warm, with toppings that feel thoughtful in both flavor and in form. The salads are a dreamland, fresh and simple, clean and fine, the kind you think about again long after dinnertime. A casual, happy haven, no pretense, only heart Spacca Napoli reminds me why pizza is an art.

My chef best friend(From Phoenix)first recommended Spacca Napoli to us as authentic Italian pizzeria/restaurant. From the wood-fired oven to ingredients flown in from Italy this is the real deal awesome owner super friendly! Went out the box and ordered one of the specials of the day pizzas I was so happy I did! Amazing flavors texture of the crust on point toppings went perfect together I really loved it! Chicago has lots of different pizza styles, but this one is the place to visit for pizza like they make it in Naples. 100% recommend!

“I had the marinara and a tiramisu for dessert.”
I had the marinara and a tiramisu for dessert. The marinara felt classic and refreshing with garlic, oregano, and basil hitting the right notes. The tiramisu was light and creamy with just the right balance of espresso and cocoa. The casual mood and welcoming staff made the experience feel very authentic. Already thinking about going back to try more items.

“The best meal I’ve had all year.”
The best meal I’ve had all year. Not only was the food fantastic, but they truly understand hospitality. I dined alone and had to change my reservation last minute, and they fit me in immediately. My waiter, Leo, was very helpful and enthusiastic about the menu, without any fluff or theatrics. The restaurant operates efficiently like a well-oiled machine, without feeling chaotic or rushed. All of the staff were very kind to me and made me feel extremely welcome. The gluten free pizza lives up to the hype—without a doubt the best gf pizza in Chicago. Leo noted that they cooked the pizza on a sheet pan inside the oven to prevent cross-contamination, but there is still risk as there is gluten present in the kitchen. I asked Leo for recommendations and let him curate my meal. I started with a glass of the Biancolella, which was delicate yet warm (tasting, not temperature!), and the Insalata Eoliana. The arugula salad was perfect, with incredibly fresh ingredients and just a freshly-squeezed lemon as dressing. The caper berries were super fun to eat! Then, he recommended the Diavola pizza and it hit the spot. The cheese was so delicate; eating it felt very intimate, like a kiss. The soppressata was perfectly spicy and the gluten free crust was delicious. I had the flourless chocolate cake and an espresso for dessert, and my mind was blown. The cake was rich yet not dry, and it was served with fresh vanilla bean gelato and amareno cherries. Wow. I’ll dream of this. Overall, blown away yet not surprised by how excellent this meal was. Spacca Napoli is a family love letter to Naples. Thank you!

“A laid-back neighborhood gem serving top-notch Neapolitan-style pizza.”
A laid-back neighborhood gem serving top-notch Neapolitan-style pizza. The crust was light and fluffy across the board, and the fig pizza stood out as a crowd favorite with its perfect balance of sweet fig and pistachio. The octopus salad appetizer was also a hit with well grilled and flavorful octopus pieces. Super friendly service and plenty of outdoor seating for the summer. A must-visit for any Neapolitan pizza fan.

Great place to grab a relaxing bite. Simple delicious food. I prefer dining outside vs inside. Have enjoyed every dish I’ve ordered over the years. Added photos of the Enzo pizza and mussels.
