Antico — Bucktown italian anchored by the Gnocchi. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. Traditional preparation with honest flavors. Daphne Young: "The short ribs were so tender and perfectly flavored"

“Both were well seasoned and fantastic”
My partner and I decided to come here for dinner. The waitress seemed nice and recommended a wine for us that we enjoyed.
Sad ambiance, crooked table, rude service, mediocre food and drinks.
Had a reservation for 8pm, got there and they made us wait in just the middle of the walkway in the back patio.

“Fantastic spot that's a bit hidden away off the main drag.”
Fantastic spot that's a bit hidden away off the main drag. Everything we got was delicious and made fully in house, including the pasta. Service was great and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend getting the combo that lets you try a dish for each course selection.

“Absolutely phenomenal experience at Antico Italian Restaurant.”
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Antico Italian Restaurant! The food was AMAZING—every single course was cooked to absolute perfection. From start to finish, each bite was better than the last. The service was top-tier, attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and truly elevated the whole dining experience. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back!

“Our server, Ryan, was absolutely fantastic.”
Our server, Ryan, was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the menu. I have a lot of food allergies but he didn’t let that scare him and had great suggestions and modification options. My friend and I split one of each course and it was delicious! Cute and quaint neighborhood spot, that grows their own herbs and food when they can. Cute covered garden area in the back.

“Simply incredible meal here for date night.”
Simply incredible meal here for date night. All of the food was so so fresh. It’s chef owned and you can TELL. We simply couldn’t get enough - we got the pate, mushroom pappardelle, and Bronzino. Charming back patio as well which smelled great thanks to them growing the restaurant’s herbs there. We will be back very soon!!

“A lovely, intimate Northern Italian restaurant.”
A lovely, intimate Northern Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and quiet. You have to call in or email for reservations but it’s worth the extra step for this gem. Service is very attentive, staff are knowledgeable and able to help guide menu decisions. They will push main courses but the homemade pasta is the star of the show and can be upgraded to entree sizes. A great meal can be made from appetizers and entree sized pastas. Appetizers are on the small side. Burrata is flown in from Italy. There’s a traditional with tomatoes and usually a special. Fantastic. Beet salad with arugula is light on beets. Pear salad was a special. Melon and prosciutto is a great combination and slightly larger appetizer. Pastas - change from the antipasti size to entree and order many to share. I can’t say there’s a favorite. They’re all homemade and hard to beat. I would recommend getting at least one of the gnocchis. I’ve never had gnocchi so light and airy. Desserts - panna cotta was the table favorite. Flourless chocolate cake is an excellent rendition. Lemon cake is light and airy after a big pasta dinner. You can either eat in the more upscale dining room or the slightly more casual deck with fig trees, lemon trees, grapevines, herb boxes, and a fireplace.

“An underrated essential neighborhood Italian spot.”
An underrated essential neighborhood Italian spot! Love the wine list and the great service – it's perfect for a last-minute date night reservation. The back patio has those authentic Italian vibes that make it extra special. Highlights for us were the cured meat, olives, and polenta to start, and the brown butter sage gnocchi was just *chef's kiss*.

“I cannot say enough good things about Antico.”
I cannot say enough good things about Antico! The service was very attentive and prompt. We sat on the patio, which was lovely. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Many of the herbs used could be seen growing in planters on the patio! The scallops and brown butter gnocchi were the best I’ve ever had. This place is truly special - we’ll be back for sure!

“We had a great experience at Antico.”
We had a great experience at Antico! We sat on the back patio on a rainy day and it was a great atmosphere. My boyfriend and I split the caprese salad for an appetizer and it was delicious! Next we tried the gnocchi with San marzano tomatoes and it was amazing! The gnocchi was house made and the tomatoes were such high quality. Lastly, we ordered the filet but given that this was an Italian restaurant, we should have stuck to true Italian dishes. Overall we had a great experience at antico and would return!

“Had a large event - 45 people.”
Had a large event - 45 people. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. It was a tricky party- had people coming in and out. Staff did not complain at all and worked the room flawlessly. We will definitely be back!!

“This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.”
This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Cozy hole in the wall with mood lighting and beautiful art work. White table cloths so I personally suggest dressing nicely, but saw plenty of people in casual attire coming in for take-out. Food was incredible. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Seems like employees are really taken care of and happy which goes a long way. We had seared scallops which were delicious and I had the duck risotto. The panna cotta was to die for.

“Husband and I know the Owner and decided to have a week night date this past summer.”
Husband and I know the Owner and decided to have a week night date this past summer. Although it doesn’t look very busy from the outside, let me tell you, it’s poppin’ in the back patio area. It’s a covered patio with fans and live plants growing throughout the space. Can’t even tell you’re wedged between two buildings in the neighborhood! Food was excellent and service was delightful. Love the Italian authenticity as well, reminded us of our honeymoon in Italy!
