A truly fantastic spot for Chicago street food whether it is hot dogs or burger or more. Both the hot dog and burgers are great. French fries are very nice and crunchy and not like mush. A great spot that I hope is always here for the neighborhood.

George’s has been family owned and operated since 1948. It’s a no frills, big portions, downright good hot dogs and Greek fare establishment. They have raised prices but it’s worth it. Gyro came piping hot, tzatziki, onions, tomatoes, classic. With a mountain of crisp fries and a squeeze bottle of ketchup. I was kindly given a fork with my napkin - I think they knew I would need it. Fast service and attentive staff. Clean environment. Patio option for the summer. Dog and kid friendly. If you’re in the neighborhood, check out this place that’s stood the test of time.

I ordered a Chicago-style hot dog, and it was dressed with fresh tomatoes, onions, and a pickle. Sooo good! The bun was perfectly in tact, not soggy or mushy. Buy local. Cash only. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly cashier and cook. Check photos for menu.

Great hot dog. Full of flavor and no skimping on the toppings. French fries were fresh, crispy and thick. Food took awhile to come out but I assume because it was made to order. The gyro was also good, and they do not hold back on the portion size. Really appreciate this and it’s what keeps me coming back!

“I'm not a fan of hot dogs so I never ventured in here.”

I'm not a fan of hot dogs so I never ventured in here. One day someone I was with wanted a Chicago dog and we ended up here. They have one of my favorites - greek salad with gyro and is delicious. The value of this salad is off the charts. It has a gigantic pile of meat and two pitas on the side (just $12!). I have gotten up to 3 meals out of this. Cash only, but an alternative is to order on one of the delivery platforms for pickup. Lastly the family that runs this is really nice. When I was there on a hot summer day the woman brought everyone cups of water to the tables.

Small spot with only about 10 tables (mostly for 4 people), but it goes deeper than you’d expect once you’re inside. It’s cozy and unpretentious, with a really friendly, down-to-earth vibe. Hot dogs are clearly the star here—and for good reason. I got the classic hot dog and fries combo for $8, and it hit the spot. Simple, satisfying, and no frills—just good flavor and solid value. Service was warm and genuine. You can tell the people here care about what they’re doing, which adds to the charm of the place. If you’re in the area and craving a good hot dog, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

“I walk and run by George’s pretty often and was craving a gyro so I decided to stop in.”

I walk and run by George’s pretty often and was craving a gyro so I decided to stop in. It’s a bit of a whole in the wall but sometimes that’s the best kind of vibe. I decided to get the gyro plate which came with way more food than I expected. It was pretty delicious and came out pretty quickly. I took it to go and it held up well in transit.
