“My absolute favorite pieces were the otoro and the hirame with shiso leaf, but everything was divine and fresh”
Instead of going to a tried & true, we decided on checking out a new place.
Great waiter, but he was alone. Because of that he was slow to serve us. Kitchen was very slow.
Took my friend here on a Wednesday for her bday and an hour after we left the restaurant we both had food poisoning.

“I was here for the $79 omakase with my partner and we loved every bite.”
I was here for the $79 omakase with my partner and we loved every bite. It wasn’t crowded so it felt like we had the counter to ourselves. The service was great and the chef Sasaki was quiet, but friendly and explained every piece. My absolute favorite pieces were the otoro and the hirame with shiso leaf, but everything was divine and fresh. The matcha ice cream was delicious and they decorated for my birthday. Worth the price. The Jasmine cocktail was great for a strawberry lover but too sweet for me.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal, probably the most authentic Japanese experience you can get in Chicago right now. It’s one of the very few restaurants I find myself returning to again and again. Truly one of the city’s most underrated spots. Highly recommend.

“My hubby and I dined at Nomonomo and sat at their sushi bar to enjoy their omakase and we were absolutely blown away.”
My hubby and I dined at Nomonomo and sat at their sushi bar to enjoy their omakase and we were absolutely blown away! Sasaki San was our sushi chef and he did a phenomenal job. Our server Chris provided excellent service for us throughout the night and also mentioned that the majority of the fish that they use is imported from Japan. We could definitely taste the quality! It was a 12 course omakase and some stand outs for me were the Ebi Shirmp, Salmon with smoked foie gras, and the Fatty Toro. We also got their sake pairing which was $45 per person which we highly recommend. The last sake pairing in particular was a treat -- it was a pet nat style sparkling sake by the brand called Matsuri. We ended off our meal with a matcha green tea ice cream with toasted rice krispies. It was the perfect palate cleanser and a great way to end off our meal. We have enjoyed our fair share of omakase in the past, and Nomonomo did not disappoint! Definitely check them out if you're looking to enjoy an omakase dinner at a reasonable price for the quality that you get. We will be back!

“Good Value, Fresh Fish, Affordable Omakase 12 courses for $79 is a good deal.”
Good Value, Fresh Fish, Affordable Omakase 12 courses for $79 is a good deal. I enjoyed every single course. It came with different sauces different toppings. Each cut of the fish is big and thick unlike other omakase places, their cut is so thin and tiny piece. You can taste the real flavor of the fish. There are so many pieces! Aburi hotate is amazing with a good torched smell and sweetness from scallop. Botan Ebi is huge. I think it’s the biggest one I ever had Akami Foie Gras is melting in your mouth. Uni and Ikura bowl is superb They are so good. I have to double order them. Here also offer happy hour menu. I took advantage of it by ordering oysters, cocktails and hamachi Kama. Oysters are yummy but sauce is too salty for me. Also ordered wagyu flat iron from robata. Wagyu itself is soft and tender but sauce is a little too salty for me. I love the atmosphere and decoration. It is nice and clean. Overall I really enjoy the food here. Definitely be back soon.

Sooo good! I am always a big fan of chirashi bowls and no place impressed like Nomo did. The chef packed the bowl with premium, hearty cuts of sashimi. The sushi rice was cooked perfectly even, moist and warm without being sticky. The omakase menu present a decent variety of textures and flavors. Most amazing is our waitress - she managed to coordinate an omakase set and a single chirashi bowl for the two of us to enjoy. I will absolutely come back many times and recommend this place to my friends!

“**🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Exceptional Sushi Experience!** Nomonomo Sushi delivered an unforgettable dining...”
**🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Exceptional Sushi Experience!** Nomonomo Sushi delivered an unforgettable dining experience that was worth every penny. While it’s on the pricier side, the quality, flavors, and service more than justify the cost. We started with the *Maguro Tartare* (big-eye tuna, avocado, mango, red onion, cilantro, and chips) as a cold appetizer. While it wasn’t my personal favorite, the meal only got better from there. For the hot appetizer, we chose the *Blistered Shishito Peppers* with garlic ponzu, lemon, and katsuobushi. I’ve always enjoyed peppers, but I never imagined they could be this flavorful on their own—absolutely fantastic and a must-try. For the main event, we ordered two rolls: the *Spicy Scallop* (a classic maki) and the *Kani Hotate* (a signature roll with snow crab, truffle aioli, scallop, avocado, cucumber, chive, roe, and house tartare sauce). The signature roll was hands down the star of the night—it might just be the best roll we’ve ever had! The combination of flavors was mind-blowing, with every bite melting in your mouth. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional. The ambiance was quiet and cozy, which perfectly suited our vibe. The only small downside was our seating near the window at the entrance, where it was quite chilly, making it hard to take off our coats. A little attention to heating that area could make the experience flawless. Overall, Nomonomo Sushi exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for sushi lovers looking for an elevated dining experience!

“Made a last minute reservation here to try their omakase and we are glad we did.”
Made a last minute reservation here to try their omakase and we are glad we did! At $95, it's pretty reasonably priced, although I did calculate how much it would be to order everything separately and it was around the same, so not much of a savings. The nomakase features some dishes that aren't on the menu, but per the waitress there are dishes that are very similar. Everything was awesome, melt in your mouth nigiri, and it was nice not having to make decisions and them just bringing you food. We did feel that one of the dishes wasn't prepared correctly and they substituted it with a roll, which was great.
