“Quality sushi spot and great vibes. Rowan was accommodating for our large group and recommended a few delicious options for us to try. We’ll be back!”

“Was a big fan of this place! Got a table with mo wait on a Saturday evening, which was surprising as the place was full. Good timing played to our advantage. A nice selection of cocktails, sake, and even a few wines and beers (Japanese only). The food menu was expansive. Had a few hot appetizers along with loads of maki rolls. Plenty of variety amongst the maki offerings, with classic along with some inventive new takes. We enjoyed the Maine roll in particular, and the Po' Boy was an interesting take as well. The Dragon and Rainbow were both tasty and the fish seemed fresh on everything. I will certainly be returning to have their sashimi and nigiri and to try out their hot entree and dessert. Service was genuine, knowledgeable and professional. We receive warm and kind service along with meaningful suggestions suggestions. The environment was a low light environment but was modern and clean in nature while remaining warm and inviting. The front door is really cool, a large steel door, but it did let in a lot of cold air. I can imagine it being chilly if you were sat at the bar or too close to the door on a cold night. All in all, a good experience and we plan to return.”

“Great with gluten free allergy! I ordered online and put which items I wanted gluten free in the comments, within 2 minutes they called to confirm the gluten free items. They also marked all items so I was aware of what I could eat!”

“Delicious, fresh food that is beautifully presented. We came in for a couple of cocktails and appetizers. Service was excellent - perfectly attentive but in no way did we feel rushed. The menu was extensive and had the more traditional sushi offerings as well as more unique preparations.”

“Great neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Don’t miss the hamachi carpaccio, it’s the best thing on the menu and it’s not on the menu. Lychee mocktail is made with sprite and I subbed Perrier. Very light and the two lychees were a great touch. Some of the best nama sake nigiri; all the nigiri is top notch. Don’t forget to add a miso or spicy miso.”

“Coast Sushi Bar in Wicker Park is everything I remember, and then some. The sushi and seafood appetizers are phenomenal, the service is divine, and they now have a liquor license! I’m so happy that I was able to enjoy a nice meal on their 20th anniversary, on a Saturday night in Chicago. The Angry Salmon Appetizer and the Firecracker Roll were absolutely perfect! How I miss this city! 🥰🔥🎉 And a special thanks to my amazing server, Ricardo!”

“Met a friend for dinner here on a Thursday evening. I haven’t been here since before 2020, they now only have one section of the restaurant, it’s not as big as it used to be but the quality of the food is still the same. We got the edamame as an appetizer and 6 rolls for dinner and mango and chocolate mochi for dessert. Everything was so good and the server was very friendly.”
“My favorite neighborhood sushi spot! The fresh wasabi is so good.”
“Best sushi in the state and BYOB. I prefer the atmosphere before the remodel when it was dim light and larger.”
“This is by far the best sushi you will find anywhere. Absolutely anywhere. They’ve been in business for at least 20 years or more for a reason. Try the angry salmon, not on the menu.”
