Sweet Rice Chicago — one of Bucktown's strongest thai spots. Creative without being gimmicky. Easy on the wallet, BYOB. "It was sautéed perfectly with deep pockets of flavor— the duck is tender and juicy" — Mona

“A friend has been looking for the best Khao Soi for over a year”
If you're looking for a place where the server acts like Regina George, this is the spot.
Dined in on a Monday night, Oct 21 2024. Pros: big portion, nice service. Cons: the food.
A waste of $40 on two entrees.

“Me & my gf had the pleasure of trying this restaurant one Saturday afternoon while looking for some lunch.”
Me & my gf had the pleasure of trying this restaurant one Saturday afternoon while looking for some lunch. We had a really good time here. It was very clean, easy to order, and the staff were helpful as well. We ordered several different items to share. Such as the Thom khem (pork belly) , bbq chicken over rice, Thai dessert, and some boba. Everything was delicious but my favorite had to be the bbq chicken , the sauce had the perfect amount of sweet and tangy ness.

“Got take out and it was ready quickly with an easy ordering system.”
Got take out and it was ready quickly with an easy ordering system. Got the honeydew yakult drink which was really good just very sweet ( little too sweet for me) We also tried the pad see ew and the basil chicken, both of which i would reccomend! Quick and easy place to grab a quick meal, they also have some lunch deal options.

“One of my favorite restaurants.”
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing, and every entree I’ve ever had was perfect. I had the fish satay and orange chicken. The boba is delicious and the drinks are served by a robo-kitty which is a nice touch. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and it makes me always want to go back. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. A must try, must have.

“I got the beef noodle soup and it was excellent.”
I got the beef noodle soup and it was excellent. the broth was deep and savory and the beef was tender enough to enjoy without fuss. the noodles had a good bite and made the bowl feel complete. the staff was friendly and kept everything flowing smoothly even during a lunch rush. the vibe was laid back and comfortable all around. i’ll order that again next time i need something warming and hearty.

I really wanted some Pad Thai and I also heard this place has robot waiters and I wanted to see it, so I checked both off my list here! They have a great menu at reasonable prices and a little boba tea stand too. The style inside makes you feel like you’ve found a great street food place! The little cat robot waiter is SO CUTE! It was a good time, I’d go back!

“Fantastic BYOB spot for a quick bite to eat of authentic Asian food.”
Fantastic BYOB spot for a quick bite to eat of authentic Asian food. I found the Thai dishes, specifically the green curry and tom kha gai were traditional and some of the absolute best i've had in the city. The papaya salad reminded me of Bangkok and was delectably spicy. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Will absolutely be back.

“The kitchen closes at 8.45 pm on a weekday and the last done is to exit before 9 pm.”
The kitchen closes at 8.45 pm on a weekday and the last done is to exit before 9 pm. We were there at 8.20 pm on a Thursday night. The waitress told us before hand we would have to rush. We were thankful foe the heads up. The food was great Our order : Avocado roll - the roll was good., but the ginger and Wasabi were bland., Veggie potsticker - about 10 in number ..small size. They were hot and tasted great. Veggies egg roll & Veggies fried rice with tofu - a bit mild., but the spice powder on the table greatly helped . Overall ., very happy with the food. Good quality. Good service. My kiddo loved getting the water from the robot.

“Really great Thai boat noodles with huge portions.”
Really great Thai boat noodles with huge portions. The beef was tender and plentiful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The price was fair for how much you get. Only downside were the flies :( Regardless, would love to come back to try their other options.

They have a cute little robot that brings you water!! my goodness the food was absolutely delicious. Spicy kimchi dumplings are to die for be aware. If you do get the noodles, you will be slurping and you will make a mess of your shirt. Service was super friendly and personable.

“A friend has been looking for the best Khao Soi for over a year.”
A friend has been looking for the best Khao Soi for over a year. Well, she absolutely loved the Khao Soi here! We also loved the basil beef and BBQ pork buns. The basil chicken was so flavorful and delicious. I also recommend the Gua Chai, shrimp shumai, panang beef, the beef noodle, and the roti Karee curry! The cute robot brought us our water and my brown sugar boba milk tea. They were limited on desserts, but the chocolate roti hit the spot. It's tough to find parking nearby but worth the walk. I will definitely be back to try more menu items.

“We stumbled across this place to try Thai shaved ice(Nam Khang Sai), something we'd never had...”
We stumbled across this place to try Thai shaved ice(Nam Khang Sai), something we'd never had before, and it was absolutely beautiful! It's like Hawaiian-style shaved ice but with more Thai fruits, making it perfect for a hot summer day. If you're looking for a refreshing change from boba teas (though it's hard to tire of those yummy drinks!), give this a try. It's sure to cool you down.Along with the Thai shaved ice, we ordered Pad Kee Mao, which turned out to be one of the best versions we've had in the city so far. They nailed the perfect level of spiciness—we enjoy our Thai food quite spicy, and they delivered wonderfully flavorful heat. We loved it so much that we polished off the entire plate! The portion size was generous with fresh vegetables and meats. We'll definitely be back to try other Thai dishes like Pad Thai, green curry, and red curry.
