Dena Kitchen — solid, no-fuss thai in Logan Square. It wears its years well. Expect to take some home. Easy on the wallet, owner-operated. "The egg rolls were perfectly crisp, green curry fragrant and warming, and really good chicken fried rice" — Ella Tutlis

“We ordered egg rolls and it was perfectly crispy and delicious, tastes fresh and so homemade”
First time ordering, was excited to try out their noodles, but ended up with a ridiculously small portion and tofu instead of beef.
Very disappointed. This is the first and last time I'll every eat from here.

So tasty, kind, quick, and wonderful vibes all around. More like ~$20 per person if you get an appetizer. Glad we stopped by!

“We love love LOVE Dena Kitchen.”
We love love LOVE Dena Kitchen! Its affordable, large portions, and incredible food. All of the curry’s are amazing (Red is our fave!) and everything else we’ve had has also been incredible. Bonus points for having so many vegetarian options.

I got the Pad Thai and spring rolls which were delicious. The only thing I wish was better was the dine in service and temperature inside (it was hot outside, so I understand). But, after they noticed we were inside, they served us really politely and timely. Loved the food!

Very tasty! We ordered tofu pad kee mao and shrimp basil fried rice and both were very large portions (2 dishes is enough for 3/4 people). The pad kee mao was a tiny bit more sour than expected, but it had a delicious char on the noodles and tofu. I do wish the ratio of noodles to veg was a little higher, but it was still very good. No complaints at all on the basil fried rice.

“Well this is my 1st time coming to this particular Thai restaurant which is really close to Hermosa...”
Well this is my 1st time coming to this particular Thai restaurant which is really close to Hermosa community despite being in Logan Square. There was some rave reviews about this place. So far the prices are fair and reasonable as well as the generous portion for Thai dishes. The ambiance is modest and NOT extravagant. I noticed they delivered all the dishes all at once which is somewhat of a disappointed. I ordered Dena sausage and the chicken Tom Kha but bit was all delivered in one session including my beef red curry. To start off I have to say the Dena sausage was fresh and delicious. The my used fresh herbs and vegetables such as ginger, onion and hot peppers slices and peanuts as a garnish wrapped with lettuce and cabbage with the sausage. Very tasty. Although question if onions are a native vegetable in Thai cuisine? The chicken Tom Kha is good but nothing spectacular. It has the traditional taste but they didn't put a lot fresh basil leaves and fresh lemon grass. It's odd that certain Thai restaurants use tomato too in the USA. This is one of them restaurants and not really a big fan of tasting tomato slices in the Tom Kha or Tom yum soup. According to owner it's because most people who are non Asian don't like it like that so they have to cater to their orders. Sad. Last but not least was the main order of red curry. I ordered it with beef instead of my typical chicken I usually order it in it was decently delicious. What again was unusual was they used bell pepper which again is something I don't see in most other Thai restaurant. It was "OK" just odd to use bell peppers. It did taste like traditional red curry with the bamboo shoots and some basil. All in all it was "OK" good. I plan to come again every now and then. It is closer to travel than most Thai restaurants that is out of my way.

“I truly can't express my appreciation for this wonderful space.”
I truly can't express my appreciation for this wonderful space. It's my favorite Thai place in the city, their reasonable prices & consistently delicious food keep me coming back frequently. My go-to is the pad see ew with beef, recently tried it with tofu & it still hit just as delicious! The curries are always on point, warm & nourishing. The folks there are also always so sweet & kind. I can't stress enough what a gem this place is, you just have to try it & see for yourself!

The walls are covered in children's drawings and the low light, quiet atmosphere makes it really enjoyable for a calm meal with friends and family. Every time we can, we try to take people here, and every time, without fail, they leave and tell us how awesome and tasty it was. I have loved everything I have gotten there--the curry especially! Their Thai Tea is the best I have ever had by MILES, and I recommend it to whoever will listen. They even introduced me to my new favorite snack, which are taro chips. I think Dena Kitchen is a hidden gem of Logan Square, and more people should stop in. Very excited to eat there again. See you soon!

“Dena is so amazing!!”
Dena is so amazing!!! The food is delicious; best Thai I’ve had in Chicago hands down. Also super allergy friendly. I’m corn and nut allergic plus dairy and grains intolerant (aside from rice). I used to live nearby and this was my go-to delivery place for me and my picky teenager. Recently moved back to Chicago and put in an order on NYE. I called back to make sure no nuts on duck noodle soup (incredible!! Must order if you like duck; my son loves the beef noodle) and was patiently given a run down on the no-nuts prep. ❤️ Plus I got a lucky orange as new years’s gift when I picked up order! This is seriously a hidden gem; I almost don’t want to post this in case it blows up! Happy to see 4 years later that Dena is still amazing. Thank you for your excellent food and attention to detail regarding food allergies!
