“Food was delicious, good value lunch specials, and a nice interior. Portions are slightly small, but everything is served neatly and looks well prepared.”

“This was our second visit, and once again the staff was amazing, so kind and attentive that we truly felt cared for. The food was absolutely delicious. We’ve tried other sushi places before, but nothing compares to this one.”

“The soft outside crunch of the Agedashi was what I've been missing with amazing flavor.”

“If you are looking for more than just a meal, you must check out this sushi spot! From the moment you walk in, the hospitality is simply outstanding. The owners and the entire staff truly go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome—they are committed to delivering the best experience possible. The food itself is nothing short of amazing. The chef’s skill is evident in every piece of sushi and sashimi, which is always incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. This isn't just good sushi; it's top-tier. I highly recommend checking out their happy hour deals for a fantastic bargain, but honestly, the quality here is so high that I would happily pay full price for everything on the menu. It is totally worth it for the incredible food and the genuinely warm service. Go support this incredible local gem. You won't be disappointed!”

“Mazd soba udon is definitely a must-try, which has a unique yet authentic flavor. Overall, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food exceeded my expectations. As a Korean visiting Chicago, I was really glad to find such authentic Korean-Japanese cuisine here.”

“BEST SUSHI IN CHICAGO! 🫶✨️ This might be my new favorite Oyster place as well! The Kuma and Shrimp Tempura rolls were absolutely perfect!!! Generous servings”

“Kanpachi kama, wagyu fried rice, and mussels in sake were excellent!”

“Went in for the lunch menu, and I must say for the price and quality, it cannot be beat! The chicken karage was so crispy and juicy, the sushi was incredibly fresh and the udon and beef bowl were hearty and reminded me of Japan. Don’t forget this place for lunch! As well as dinner. 😋❤️”

“Thank you, Chef Danny, for an amazing night! You are always fantastic and never disappoint us. Each piece of sushi was expertly crafted, showcasing the freshest ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors—especially the donburi. The presentation was stunning, and the attention to detail made every bite a true experience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience with great recommendations.”

“One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The service is great and the food is always delicious. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi in the Chicagoland area, and I can confidently say Tengoku Aburiya is the best I’ve tried. The fish is so good, I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the same as their sister restaurant, Omakase Yume. I would be hard pressed not to mention the skewers as well. The way the grill adds to the flavors reminds me of backyard cookouts in the summertime. They serve as a beautiful accompaniment to their maze soba dish. Unlike any flavors I’ve ever had when I first tried it. Now I can’t have enough. Try this place out.”

“loved the cozy atmosphere of this place. went with a friend on a saturday night (with a reservation) and they told us service would be slow because they were understaffed - it was not slow at all we tried: • lychee please cocktail • toro tartare • chicken karaage • shio pork belly • tako nuta • takoyaki • hamachi nigiri • sake nigiri toro tartare and shio pork belly were definitely the stars. toro tartare was delicious, and it had a perfectly soft & buttery texture. shio pork belly was juicy and flavorful with a tasty sauce drizzled on it the chicken karaage and nigiri pieces were dishes that i could tell were quality, but not necessarily for me. the ginger flavor in the chicken karaage was too strong for my liking, and the nigiri pieces had strong wasabi flavor, which i don’t personally like overall a very pleasant dining experience that i would definitely recommend”
