Inside H Mart, Izakaya Yume is a convenient West Loop stop for standout tonkatsu—crispy, juicy, generously portioned—and a sushi burrito regulars call one of Chicago’s best. House-heated onigiri, musubi, and nicely packaged Yume Ramen make it ideal for a quick post-shopping bite or takeout, while friendly, allergy-conscious service earns praise; expect occasional waits and inconsistent udon or teriyaki.

💖I stopped by Izakaya Yume Sushi and ordered the Tonkatsu, and it was very good! The pork cutlet was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and the sauce paired perfectly with it. The portion was generous, and the meal came with rice and salad, making it very satisfying. Highly recommended! 😊🍛👍

I stopped by H Mart by chance and tried this just as a snack. I don’t usually give compliments to onigiri, but this was honestly the best onigiri I’ve had so far. The musubi was also surprisingly good. If I go back to H Mart again, I’d definitely try other items on the menu.

Stop by after shopping at H-Mart to grab a quick bite. Customer service was amazing! The lady was super patient and nice. I have a shrimp allergy and she made sure to alert the cooks. I ended up buying some onigiri from over there as well as a sushi burrito. Sushi burrito was absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price. Currently the best sushi burrito I've had in Chicago. Find the onigiri from their restaurant versus in the store does benefit because they can actually heat it up for a little bit if you want to eat it while you walk or drive. Onigiri has a good rice to protein ratio and I have never had any issue with the onagiri spot from the stall or from inside H-Mart. I've been getting them for a little over 2 years now and the quality is still on point and the price is great. Will definitely be back to try other options like their ramen or takoyaki!

I stopped by Izakaya Yume inside H Mart today and had a really enjoyable meal overall. I ordered the Tonkatsu Curry, which came with a fried pork cutlet, rice, salad, and curry sauce. The tonkatsu was the standout of the meal perfectly crispy on the outside while still tender, juicy, and flavorful on the inside. What I appreciated most was that the pork wasn’t chewy or tough like I’ve experienced at other places. It had a great texture and was cooked really well. The curry sauce paired nicely with both the tonkatsu and rice, adding a comforting richness without overpowering the dish. The salad was also a nice addition, especially with the slightly spicy dressing that gave the meal an extra layer of flavor and made the whole plate feel more balanced and enjoyable. This is definitely something I would order again without hesitation. I also tried the Curry Udon, which included tanuki udon with curry added into the broth. While the dish was still enjoyable, this one didn’t quite hit the same level for me. The noodles had a nice texture, but the broth felt like it was missing a bit more depth and complexity. It could benefit from a stronger, richer flavor profile to make it more memorable. It wasn’t bad by any means, but compared to the tonkatsu curry, it fell a little short and probably isn’t something I’d personally reorder. Overall, a solid spot inside H-Mart with a standout tonkatsu curry that’s worth coming back for.

My first time to try the udon with tofu and takoyaki. The takoyaki was very soft and creamy. I was expecting some octopus or squid crunch and egg … 😊 but the food was still ok. The soup is savory. I’ll still recommend you to try it here if you are going to do your grocery at hmart. There are a lot of choices to choose from, so definitely im going to try whats on the menu.

For $13 + tax, the ramen could have been presented a little nicer. Ginger freshened the bowl and the egg yolks waiting for me at the bottom were pretty good too. Sadly I got stomach upset about a half hour later.

Do not recommend at all. Waited 15 minutes and got a bowl of soggy noodle… Giving two stars because at least it includes bamboo shoots, ginger, corn, and an egg.

This costed 25$ and meat wasnt even included in the curry don. It was an extra charge. Why is my portion so little compared to $16 dish??? I would skip this place for the hmart queue. Holy scammaz. Taste

Boiling hot ramen was served in Styrofoam cup. Definitely not worth 15 dollars. I don't think covid is an excuse to not use proper bowls. If hand washing can kill germs, so can a dish washer. Besides, at least use thick plastic bowls.

I first had the tonkatsu about a month ago when I was in town for an event and became obsessed with H Mart, lol. Once I got back home to Michigan, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Literally took the train the 4+ hours back for a 1 night trip for groceries and to have the tonkatsu again. It was the meal that bookends my trip--the first thing I had once I got to Chicago and the last thing I had before I headed to Union Station (which is also located very close by). It is a simple meal with big impact--and the crispiest coating I have ever had 😍
