Silver Seafood Restaurant
Silver Seafood Restaurant — neighborhood seafood in Uptown. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. Group-friendly. Gerald Red Amlih: "The flavors were exquisite, and I particularly enjoyed the perfectly grilled salmon" [$$]

“Some of the best Chinese food in town! Well cooked and prepared. Some of the best time to go is during lunch to get the lunch special. They provide so much food for a very reasonable price. My favorite is usually the beef with Chinese broccoli and white rice! The veggie egg rolls are also so delicious! They also give you this sauce to go with the rolls that’s so good too. Customer service is very polite and fast with serving. Atmosphere is very relaxing and pretty quiet. If you’re looking to grab some good Chinese food then this is definitely the spot to check out!”

“Food was delicious clean meat. had the Mongolian beef it was amazing. My friend got the orange chicken and he said it was delicious as well. places clean the staff is really nice had a wonderful experience.”

“Silver Seafood gives off a distinctly old-school Cantonese vibe with a traditional banquet hall tucked in the back. We ordered a mix of seafood and classic dishes - salt & pepper squid, cuttlefish, shrimp with eggs, black bean pork ribs, and garlic watercress. Everything was flavorful, comforting and brought a nice taste of home :)”

“Had crab rangoon, scallops with garlic sauce and shredded duck chow mei. Everything was great. The staff was friendly.”

“A classic hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant in Vietnamese town. This place holds many nostalgic memories growing up in Chicago and as a patron of this restaurant for decades, I finally found some time to come back and make a review. Decently cheap Chinese food with delicious and PLENTIFUL options (intimidating amounts). Would recommend bringing large groups of people as the portions are made with family-style sharing in mind. Staple items: salt & pepper smelt, Japanese fried tofu, sweet pork-chop, and duck buns! But there are so much more to choose from and the options pictured above are also very good. Would always come back here when craving Chinese food without the energy to drive all the way down South!”

“Huge menu, prompt and efficient service, and really delicious food! My brother and his Vietnamese-American wife love this place, and my first visit made me a believer too. We celebrated a birthday here by getting a whole crab ($45 market price), and a whole bunch more food for nine people. It was delightful to sit around the big table with a Lazy Susan and share the feast. The atmosphere could have benefited from some music or a fountain or something, but the interior looks nice. Plenty of easy parking just north of the building.”

“Silver seafood is a traditional Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of dishes to accommodate anyone’s taste buds. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but a wholesome traditional Chinese restaurant with solid food. The service was good, the wait staff was attentive. The atmosphere is typical Chinese restaurant with fish tanks for fresh seafood, lobsters, crabs. We enjoyed crab Rangoon, salt and pepper tofu, salt and pepper pork chops, roasted pigeon, vegetable chow fun, sautéed chow mein with soy sauce, orange chicken, shrimp with walnuts. Everything was good, although not exceptional. I would go here again for a solid Chinese dinner.”

“Honestly not like what I remember from years ago. The plates definitely over priced for some of the food quality. And their smoothie machine was broken. The best plates was the fried tofu and combination fried rice. Definitely had a lot of leftovers but did not feel worth $500+”

“The food is actually pretty good here but the owner sucks. He handles the food after handling money transaction, has bad attitude and they failed their health inspection. The city of Chicago agreed with my inspection. (See photo) As a former chef I highly advise that you take precaution.”
