“Friendly service, great food, really great ambiance. I went with a party of 6 for brunch on Monday last week and we were seated quickly. Our server Noah was friendly, helpful, and very quick to top up coffee/water and give some suggestions for those of us who were indecisive. I ordered the Summer Spaetzle and the house coffee blend, as well as the Litchi Noir Kouign Amann, Matcha and Berry Bostock and Coconut Financier, all of which were amazing. The financier was definitely a standout. Everything came out pretty quickly but we didn’t feel rushed as we ate, which we really appreciated! Eager to return the next time I’m in the Chicago area 😊”

“The menu is focused around vegetarian and before heavy dishes, there are still meat and non veggies dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious. The breakfast burritos and the omelet were creamy and filling. The pancake order was huge! And the pancakes were so fluffy and might just be one of the best pancakes I’ve had recently. We also got the matcha and berries pastry and loved it. Atmosphere was warm and non pretentious. The servers were so nice. We were there toward the end of brunch and they gave us a pastry that was leftover from the service.”

“Weekend mornings were packed so I had to wait but it was worth it. Their breakfast burrito hit all the right spots- fluffy eggs, cheesy, and the potatoes inside were so good. Staff was truly despite the rush. Will come back for their peanut noodles and shrimp with grits.”

“I was not overly impressed for the prices. but everything was good. however I would not rush back”

“Wow, fantastic food, everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. Would absolutely come back.”

“This is an outstanding breakfast spot that delivers fresh, healthy, creative, and absolutely delicious food. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and perfectly portioned, making for a satisfying meal without feeling overly heavy. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit, making the experience even more enjoyable. The drinks and dishes were beyond delightful, and everything exceeded our expectations. Between the exceptional food, outstanding service, and inviting atmosphere, this is a place I highly recommend. We can't wait to come back and will definitely be returning.”

“Un locale davvero interessante. Bella l'offerta dell' Happy hour per quanto riguarda i cocktail. Abbiamo scelto alcuni antipasti da condividere, tra i quali ottimi in fiori di zucca fritti con ripieno di gorgonzola dolce, alcuni piatti principali (ho trovato notevoli gli asparagi). Abbiamo mangiato sugli sgabelli di fronte al bancone ed è stata una scelta azzeccata perché ho notato che nell'altra sala c'era molto più rumore. Personale molto gentile.”

“Lula Cafe has been the heartbeat of Logan Square's food scene since before farm-to-table was a phrase you saw on every menu, and walking in you can tell this place earned its reputation slowly and honestly rather than chasing a trend. The space spreads across a patio, a worn-in bar, and a cozy dining room covered in local art, dim lighting giving the whole thing a warm glow that works for both a quick coffee and a full dinner. We started with the chickpea fries, which look almost like churros and have a great crisp exterior with a soft interior, dipped in something tangy that made them disappear fast. From there came the pasta yiayia, the restaurant's most famous dish, bucatini noodles tossed in brown butter and cinnamon with creamy feta and crispy garlic slices on top. It smells almost like dessert before you even taste it, which throws people off the first time, but it works in a strange, wonderful way once you commit to a bite. We also tried a kale and beet salad with goat cheese and pecans, lightly dressed and bright, a nice contrast against the richer pasta. At brunch on another visit, the French omelette made with ricotta and sun gold tomatoes turned out to be one of the better omelettes either of us had eaten anywhere, simple and perfectly executed. The menu rotates constantly since it follows what's actually in season, so don't get too attached to any one dish, but that's also exactly why people keep coming back.”

“Amazing food, delicious but not fussy like some places these days. Veggie-forward but plenty of carnivore options, too.”

“Service, dishes and drinks were beyond delightful. We didn't realize there was a Chicago Restaurant Week menu until we were seated at the bar. One glance and we knew that would be our direction. It was the perfect amount of food and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We can't wait to return!”
