The Whale — one of Logan Square's strongest american spots. Come for the food, stay for the energy. The cocktail program is serious.

“Food for me is integral to communicating with my tribe, breaking bread, sharing about our lives, and every dish, every morsel we shared was delicious, tasty, mouth-watering, enjoyable, palatable, delightful, and satisfying Buffalo fried cauliflower, Pimento Mac n’ Cheese, dry-aged Tenderloin sandwich, steak & eggs, blueberry muffin iron skillet, shrimp-pork Grits, all recommended”
Nice ambiance but the food was not good at all. The “Spread” was most probably the best among our orders.

Been in Chicago for almost 4 years now, I personally think this place is arguably the best restaurant in the city solely because of the Petit Tenderloin sandwhich. 10 out of 10, highly recommended this place and that sandwich.

“Such a cool spot with a great vibe.”
Such a cool spot with a great vibe. The atmosphere is relaxed but still lively, making it perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying a casual night out. The food and drinks were solid, everything came out fresh and well-made. What really stood out was how comfortable the place felt-not rushed, not too loud, just right. I’d definitely go back.

We visited Whale on Milwaukee avenue Chicago. Fantastic atmosphere, very elegant! Crab cakes were to die for! A little bit expensive place, but it was worth it. Parking could be an issue on the weekends.

We came here because of the insta post couple of days ago stating that the Saints vs. Bears would be shown with great food. The Whale did not disappoint. Andrea was a fabulous server for us! As southerners, the food knocked our Alvin Kamara socks off. The spread was yummy. I’d highly recommend the Brie & fig, pimento cheese, and the ricotta, honey, and pistachio. The steak & eggs was scrumptious. It was seasoned perfectly (I didn’t even need salt or pepper). The service was impeccable. Thank you for being so welcoming for us Saints fans.

“Our experience at The Whale in Chicago was absolutely amazing.”
Our experience at The Whale in Chicago was absolutely amazing! The lobster and waffles were seasoned to pure perfection! Every bite was full of flavor and cooked just right. The owner Justin went above and beyond to make sure our visit was nothing short of exceptional, and you can truly feel the care that goes into every detail here. The cooks did an outstanding job, and our waitress was so enthusiastic and genuinely happy to serve us . Definitely visiting there again!

“Decided to dine in last minute for a party of 3 and a half (my infant).”
Decided to dine in last minute for a party of 3 and a half (my infant). We ordered drinks first, which were part of happy hour (5-7pm). The cherry mule was my favorite, very refreshing and I also ordered the whale g & t that was more of a pine taste to it which I didn’t mind. For food, we ordered a burger, green salad, chicken wings, and the Mac & cheese. All were very good, the burger was the star of the show for sure. The staff was very kind and the manager even nicer since he gave our party nice shade to enjoy our time. Definitely coming back to this joint! Food, drinks, and atmosphere are all high quality, thank you The Whale!
