Las Mañanitas Restaurant — a mexican spot in Lakeview. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. Ron L: "The house margherita was made fresh and the Tajin on the rim really topped it off" [$$, patio]

☀️Patio — a Lakeview classic in summer.

Came here for the Pride Parade and grabbed a spot on the patio—such a great way to kick off the day! The service was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and the margaritas were even better. I tried both the strawberry and mango margaritas, and they were easily my favorites. The chicken quesadillas came out perfectly crispy and were absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and great food. I'd definitely come back!

This restaurant is in a great location in boystown and the food, staff and owner are great. We came here on our first date and every chance we get we return and have never been let down. This time we went on Halloween night and it was fun to see everyone dressed in cute costumes. A must visit location.

The place is cute and brings in a lot of familiar neighborhood residents. It's clean and obviously LGBT friendly since it's in boys town. Food was decent and good but I won't say delicious I've eaten at smaller places that had Las Mananitas beat. The pitcher of margaritas was good and enough alcohol to call it a margarita. Some places just give you juice with a little alcohol for your buck. Anyways the best thing on our plate is the meat .. Carne Asada was delicious. The rice was dry and had no flavor. I'm taking that it was 8pm on a Sunday and giving them a hall pass for the crappie rice. Over all if you're hungry and want Mexican while in the area go for it. It is not the greatest but it's not the worst either.

EXPENSIVE! Kind of upset, came for a Marg and it was delicious! Was given chips and salsa at the table, and the charged for them at the end of the bill, i thought they were complimentary and since the Margherita was the same price or more of some of the menu items i thought it was enough of a purchase, but good to know, paid 26$ for a margarita and some chips and salsa 🥲

I really want to love this place but I cannot recommend it. It is extremely overpriced compared to other comparable options in the area for good Mexican food. For example, tonight I paid $25 for chicken quesadillas which were 3 half tortillas filled with chicken and cheese, rice and beans on the side. Nothing special. I asked for a side of sour cream, which I would assume would be complimentary with an entree or maybe a dollar or two, but when I received the check I saw I was charged $5 for a condiment sized side of sour cream, which is CRAZY, imo. Service is friendly but slow, even when the restaurant is dead. I’ve tried coming a few times and this will likely be my last.

Loud people. Loud place. Popular with sports fans. But the service is horrible. My waiter came to me only once to deliver the food after he had taken the order. He never checked on me once. I had to go get him in order to make a request. I never got a refill on my drink. And then I don't understand why they think that they should get a tip when they don't even bother to check on you. I've waited tables before and you have to be watching the customer. Don't take a siesta and talk with your friends up in the front and have a good time while I'm sitting there. Waiting for you to come back and you never come back for 30 minutes I waited. Also, I have been coming here for 40 years now. My first time was when I was 28. I can tell you safely that the food has gone downhill. They also used to have one of the best red salsas in the city but now they only have a green salsa and it's not tasty. I asked him for the tomato one and they don't have it anymore but he didn't tell me that, he brought out some tomato soup. He assumed he knew what I wanted but he wasn't listening and obviously he didn't know the difference. AND, YES IT IS VERY OVERPRICED. It was always a bit on the expensive side but back then you got what you paid for. However this was also during the time when you could go and buy a burrito for $3 in a burrito shop and it would fill you up for the entire day. They were large. Back then you would spend about $6 to $7 on your food. Now it's over $22 just for the main dish. I won't be going back, ever. If I want to be overcharged but still have something that I like to eat, it's going to be Caesars on Broadway. They didn't change their recipes. Thank God something stayed the same...

I called and ordered the Enchilada Suizas to go. I was surprised upon arrival when the total was $25 when this used to be $16ish. I just shrugged it off, paid and left a $5 tip - no biggie. I walked the 5 mins around the block back home, opened the box, and was shocked to see the slop I was given. Everything was mixed together and looked horrible! I carefully carried the bag so there’s absolutely NO way things got this mixed up on the short walk around the corner. I usually don’t make a fuss, however, I decided to call them to leave feedback. The guy was nice but says that I must have caused this but that’s literally impossible. It’s pretty obvious that they just threw the food in the box and/or it was mishandled BEFORE it was given to me. Oh, and he mentioned they raised the prices but $30 for chicken enchiladas is crazy. Needless to say I will not eat here or suggest this place to friends again. Adding a picture of what it looked like before I started to eat it (I added the extra sour cream on top but you get the idea).

Great selection of Mexican and some other Hispanic dishes (Ropa Vieja, a Cuban dish is on the menu). Service is fast and friendly. The actual dishes we ate were perfect, they do a great enchilada. They don't skimp on tequila with the Margaritas.

They have the best fresh lime squeezed margaritas. I used to think I didn’t like margs until I had their margarita. I love their guacamole as well. Not the cheapest Mexican place, but for me it’s worth every penny!
