“I’m surprised I haven’t left a review yet, but Fernando’s is 5 stars, no question. Staff is so kind and friendly, drinks are amazing, food is even better, and it’s just a really chill vibe. “I might be a little biased because this is my family’s restaurant and I basically grew up eating this food, but Fernando’s is hands down one of the best spots in Chicago for Mexican food and creative crossover dishes. The food here has always been packed with flavor, made fresh, and consistently amazing. The fajitas, whether chicken or steak, are always my go-to and never disappoint. The chips and salsa are seriously addictive and some of the best around. Over the years I’ve also had so many other favorites including the Tijuana Street Fries, Langostinos, Birria Ramen, Tortilla Soup, Enchiladas, Fajita Burrito, Chimichanga, Guacamole, Chicken Molcajete, and Shrimp Ceviche. Everything is full of flavor and the portions are great. What I love most is that Fernando’s has its own style. It’s not just traditional Mexican food. They mix in fun crossover dishes and unique specials while still keeping everything authentic and comforting. The atmosphere is fun, the margaritas are great, and it’s the kind of place where people become regulars fast. If you’re looking for amazing Mexican food in Chicago with huge flavor and a family-run atmosphere, Fernando’s is absolutely worth checking out.”

Their steak tacos are DELICIOUS 3. Their margaritas are strong 4. Their "Fire Salsa" needs to be put in a museum and studied, albeit unlikely to be replicated. It's extremely good. I could drink it.
