Kyoto Garden Modern Japanese Restaurant
Kyoto Garden Modern Japanese Restaurant — honest japanese in Glenview, where the Sushi is worth ordering. The design gives it a sharp first impression. Strong pours and a bartender who takes pride in the work, and family-run. "So fresh, so crispy, creamy, flavorful, and completely mouthwatering" — Rhonda Wong-Calace [$$]

“If you want something better than mediocre sushi, this is the place (it was for me). The best California roll and Shrimp Tempura roll I’ve had for the money in a long time. Friendly, attentive staff. Nice ambiance. Outdoor patio too.”

“Located in a seemingly random suburban strip mall, one could easily overlook this place. Its service was attentive without being intrusive and its holiday decorations were festive. The food was mostly good except several pieces of sashimi were still frozen inside, which, for a Japanese restaurant, is not acceptable. Aside from one minor issue, ramen, maki rolls, and miso soup were all delicious. Definitely recommended. In two visits to this restaurant, they never brought out an appetizer ordered but charged both times. The way their staff handle these mistakes makes the customer feel as though they’re they are trying to pull a fast one. Really not cool.”

“Very tasty food and good options. Service is always wonderful. Good happy hour deals also.”

“Friendly service, clean with am esthetic ambiance. Good portions, fairly priced and extremely tasty. Enjoy!”

“We’ve been here a few times and the food, service, and atmosphere is always exceptional. The sushi is well made with fresh ingredients and feels light. We always top it off with the steak ramen, which has the perfect level of spice and leaves us satisfied without feeling full.”
“Can't say enough great things about Kyoto Garden! It was the first restaurant we visited after moving to Glenview last year and it's now the first place we suggest when guests visit us. The service has always been friendly and we're never left waiting long for food or drinks. The menu has plenty of options, even if you're not a fan of sushi! Also, the agedashi tofu app is 🤤 Thank you for quickly becoming our neighborhood favorite!!”
