Franco's Ristorante — top-tier italian in Chinatown. Classic neighborhood feel, nothing here chasing trends. Straight from the source, no adjustments. "The beet risotto was creamy and full of flavor, the milanesa was perfectly crispy" — Javier Zamora.

“We started with the bruschetta and stuffed peppers and Ralph made sure to order enough so everyone got one”
This review is a few years late, but I figured I should write something. We were a party of 6 and all ordered entrees.
As far as quality of food, this would unfortunately be one tier below Olive Garden. It was okay- only okay, not great.
Service sucked.

“Phenomenal Dining Experience in Bridgeport.”
Phenomenal Dining Experience in Bridgeport! We had an incredible dining experience at Franco's Ristorante. The food, wine, and service were all top-notch. I ordered the Chicken Giardiniera, and it was nothing short of phenomenal—perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat and flavor. I didn’t capture a great photo of the dish, but trust me, there were two generous pieces of chicken buried under that delicious giardiniera—it was hearty and satisfying. The wine selection was equally impressive. We enjoyed a Super Tuscan glass of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo - Carletto. The staff deserves special mention—they were attentive, warm, and made sure every detail was perfect. From start to finish, the experience felt genuinely elevated, yet welcoming. If you’re anywhere near Bridgeport, make this your next stop. You won’t be disappointed!

“recommending this spot to everyone i know.”
recommending this spot to everyone i know. their seafood is fresh, their bread is warm and crispy on the outside, and their serving sizes are perfect. my husband and I got their fried calamari, bruschetta, linguine and mussels in white wine (special), beet and goat cheese salad, and their molten lava cake (special). you can taste the love in their food and it’s the perfect spot for a date night. our server Aida was very sweet and attentive and the restaurant’s vibe was very cozy. can’t wait to come back here!

“Franco’s is such a classic vibey neighborhood Italian restaurant that walking in you would think...”
Franco’s is such a classic vibey neighborhood Italian restaurant that walking in you would think you have stumbled into a scene from a 90s romantic comedy- perhaps Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd are having an awkward first date at the bar in this charming, picture perfect jewel box of an eatery. The service is welcoming , attentive and kind. Food is excellent, classic pastas expertly made, with chicken and fish dishes also. Marsala was excellent, a chicken Caprese special also delicious. The deconstructed cannoli dessert is a stroke of genius. The atmosphere has to be mentioned again; convivial and warm. A delightful place for a date night or dinner with the family. Some might think it’s too small- I say it’s the Midwest, chat up the next table. Make lifelong friends out of perfect strangers. It’s that kind of place.

“Amazing little old school Italian restaurant in the Bridgeport neighborhood.”
Amazing little old school Italian restaurant in the Bridgeport neighborhood. The small charming and quaint restaurant can be tight at times. Wonderful authentic Italian food. The Grilled Calamari was made perfectly with a light balsamic glaze. All 4 dishes Pan Seared Salmon, Veal Marsala, Shrimp Fra Diavolo (spicy), and the Buccatini were delicious.

“Classic "family run" Italian restaurant feeling.”
Classic "family run" Italian restaurant feeling. Weekday lunch service was fast and the gnocchi in sauce was simplistic....could have ordered another serving.

“I went with my family of 5.”
I went with my family of 5. We arrived on a whim while visiting Chicago and are pleased to say that we haven't enjoyed a restaurant this much in quite some time. The vibe was quant and relaxing and the service (particularly Isreal) was impeccable -- but the food was the show stopper. It was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I appreciated the staff accommodating my vegetarian requests with no hesitation -- highly recommend a stop to Franco's!

“Franco’s Ristorante is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Italian dining experience with a touch of old-world charm.”
Franco’s Ristorante is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Italian dining experience with a touch of old-world charm. We visited on a beautiful day and chose to sit outside, enjoying the pleasant weather on their charming patio. The outdoor seating was perfect, cozy, welcoming, and a great way to soak in the neighborhood vibes while savoring a delicious meal. The service at Franco’s was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. You feel like you’re part of the family from the moment you walk in. The staff’s knowledge of the menu and their enthusiasm for the food really added to the experience. We started with the Whipped Ricotta Tuffo, which was simply divine. The creamy ricotta paired with the sweetness of the orange marmalade and honey, spread over perfectly crisp crostinis, was a dance of flavors in my mouth. The blend of textures and tastes from the smooth ricotta to the bright citrus notes was a beautiful harmony that left me wanting more. For my main course, I went with the Fettuccini alla Franco, and it was out of this world. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the combination of tender mushrooms, juicy chicken, and the rich pesto cream sauce was heavenly. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the sauce was so velvety and well-balanced that it brought everything together flawlessly. It’s the kind of dish that makes you savor every forkful and wish it never ends. Franco’s Ristorante is a place where tradition and flavor come together in every dish. Whether you’re dining indoors or enjoying their lovely outdoor seating, it’s the perfect spot for an unforgettable Italian meal. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their menu and enjoy the wonderful ambiance again. If you’re in search of a true Italian dining experience, this is the place to be!

“Franco’s was a great way to spend the evening.”
Franco’s was a great way to spend the evening. Super friendly staff, Ralph was super accommodating and answered all our questions. All the food came out nice and quick, still hot and no problems. We started with the bruschetta and stuffed peppers and Ralph made sure to order enough so everyone got one. My friend is vegetarian and Ralph assured her nearly all items in the menu could be made vegetarian. We could also swap out meats, pasta and sauces. For dessert Ralph recommended the cannoli dip which went down great with the table. I was stuffed at the end. If only we could see eye to eye on Moretti over Peroni.
