Gio's Cafe And Deli — among the best italian in Bridgeport. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. Rooted in technique and tradition throughout. BYOB. Robert Madison: "The bread was great, as was the olive oil with fresh basil in it (maybe the best I’ve ever had"

“All of my family loves to cook and it’s amazing that Gio’s sells some of their specialty products in the restaurant so you can take a piece of them home with you even after you leave and their giardiniera is a perfect addition to a gift basket not to mention their fresh loaves of bread they sell daily”
Got to try the rigatoni with vodka sauce that was a 4/5 meat flavoring was on point, sauce was flavorful had a good base to it.
My seafood pasta came with mussels and clams cold while the pasta and shrimps are hot.

“I must admit Gio’s is the biggest mistake I have ever made !!!!”
I must admit Gio’s is the biggest mistake I have ever made !!!!! I have a condo in the city that is right next to this beautiful cafe & deli for several years, every summer I would jog by it and comment how quaint and lovely the place seemed and make a promise that I will find a free day off of work to stop by and give them a try. Well that free day was last Friday, I called in an order for pick up and as soon as I made it home and had the first bite is was nothing but pure love , bliss and enjoyment. I am an avid food lover, I only go on vacations and trips simply for the thought of the food experience I’ll get to try at new places. Gio’s is that place my taste buds have been looking for. I have been here everyday since last Friday ordering a new dish. I am in absolute love with this cafe and deli and will be using them for special lunch dates , favorite go to spot and a gift shop🎁 as well. All of my family loves to cook and it’s amazing that Gio’s sells some of their specialty products in the restaurant so you can take a piece of them home with you even after you leave and their giardiniera is a perfect addition to a gift basket not to mention their fresh loaves of bread they sell daily. I cannot say enough good things about Gio’s you just have to come on in and see it for yourself. This is truly my favorite hidden gem 💎 in the city as they give you the maximum bang for each and every dollar spent. The portion size makes you feel happy you came and delighted to go right back. Their ingredients are so fresh and rich once you go you’ll be coming back in repeat 🔁 just like me !!! They are so professional and happy to help they can even take special requests on your order to make sure you love every bite. Ex: I don’t like onions 🧅 but they had a dish that comes with them, I asked if they could not use onions 🧅 but use mushrooms 🍄🟫 instead and they made the change effortlessly and deliciously. The attention to detail here is just impeccable. Thank you Gio’s and your amazing team staff, you help add that special charm and character that makes Chicago the most beautiful and intricate cities in the world 🌎 keep up the good work. As I will be there shortly to pick up my order of the day 😄😁😃 !!!!

“This place is a true little gem in Bridgeport.”
This place is a true little gem in Bridgeport. Our social club has multiple dinner parties here every year up to 35 -40 people. It’s amazing that this little kitchen is able accommodate a party this big. All of the entrees came out hot and the same time! The portions of the appetizers, entrees and desserts were very generous! The entire staff including the owner Nacho, worked together as a team to execute our event, which made the evening memorable. Best of all, you can bring your own favorite bottle of wine!

“Decided to dine in for some local italian food instead of a big chain.”
Decided to dine in for some local italian food instead of a big chain. Great decision! Our table ordered the following items: - Italian wedding soup: simple yet tasty savory tomato broth and orzo. -Chicken Vesuvio: Perfectly balanced white wine sauce, tender chicken and peas, and golden baked potato wedges. -Special for 8/17: Whitefish a la lemone with capellini and cherry tomatoes. Flaky tender whitefish seasoned with delicious lemon sauce and pasta with cherry tomatoes. All of the food was amazing and service was kind and attentive! I would highly recommend this local restaurant and deli.

“Delicious food, everyone was so nice.”
Delicious food, everyone was so nice. My water was never less than halfway full, because the staff was so fast before the dinner rush. The shrimp broccoli fedicini alfredo was around $26 the chicken siciliana was around $22. The pastas were so large, definitely recommended splitting it or half to take home. The atmosphere was so cozy everyone coming or going was saying bye to a table or two, it was so cute. We almost kept walking before we came in because the only outdoor sign was a little covered by the trees. At the end we also got a beautiful pistachio canoli $6, chocolate tartufo gelato $5, and a frozen crema e pistachio $5 to-go. The entire order plus tip was around $100 which was more than google had mentioned. We definitely have plans to go back since the food and shop at front was so awesome.

“I am fanatical about Italian food in general, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations.”
I am fanatical about Italian food in general, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. This place has an old school diner feel and the service is great. I got a chicken parm sandwich and it was phenomenal and their bruschetta was perfect. As a chef, it is always nice to find a place that I throughly enjoy. This is why I love Chicago. I will be back shortly Gio's.
