Gio's Cafe And Deli
Gio's Cafe And Deli — among the best italian in Bridgeport. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. Rooted in technique and tradition throughout. BYOB. Robert Madison: "The bread was great, as was the olive oil with fresh basil in it (maybe the best I’ve ever had" [$$]

“A friend told me to get the baked clams.... It was a very good decision. One of my favorite places to go and it is BYOB also”

“Service was great and timely. The venue itself feels exactly like what you would want out of a family style Italian deli. Will be back next time we happen to be in the area.”

“Nice place, food was delicious and the service was attentive and kind.”

“I must admit Gio’s is the biggest mistake I have ever made !!!!! I have a condo in the city that is right next to this beautiful cafe & deli for several years, every summer I would jog by it and comment how quaint and lovely the place seemed and make a promise that I will find a free day off of work to stop by and give them a try. Well that free day was last Friday, I called in an order for pick up and as soon as I made it home and had the first bite is was nothing but pure love , bliss and enjoyment. I am an avid food lover, I only go on vacations and trips simply for the thought of the food experience I’ll get to try at new places. Gio’s is that place my taste buds have been looking for. I have been here everyday since last Friday ordering a new dish. I am in absolute love with this cafe and deli and will be using them for special lunch dates , favorite go to spot and a gift shop🎁 as well. All of my family loves to cook and it’s amazing that Gio’s sells some of their specialty products in the restaurant so you can take a piece of them home with you even after you leave and their giardiniera is a perfect addition to a gift basket not to mention their fresh loaves of bread they sell daily. I cannot say enough good things about Gio’s you just have to come on in and see it for yourself. This is truly my favorite hidden gem 💎 in the city as they give you the maximum bang for each and every dollar spent. The portion size makes you feel happy you came and delighted to go right back. Their ingredients are so fresh and rich once you go you’ll be coming back in repeat 🔁 just like me !!! They are so professional and happy to help they can even take special requests on your order to make sure you love every bite. Ex: I don’t like onions 🧅 but they had a dish that comes with them, I asked if they could not use onions 🧅 but use mushrooms 🍄🟫 instead and they made the change effortlessly and deliciously. The attention to detail here is just impeccable. Thank you Gio’s and your amazing team staff, you help add that special charm and character that makes Chicago the most beautiful and intricate cities in the world 🌎 keep up the good work. As I will be there shortly to pick up my order of the day 😄😁😃 !!!!”

“La comida está deliciosa las porciones que dan son muy generosas y sus postres sobretodo el tiramisú está muy bueno excelente opción para esos antojos de comida italiana”

“We passed by this restaurant so many different times and didn't realize how good the food is here. This is definitely a local hidden gem that you should try if you are in for some Italian food. In fact, there are at least 4-5 local Italian restaurants within the half mile radius. We decided on Gio's due to how close we are to this restaurant. We placed a takeout order and the order was ready as promised. The food was still hot when we got home because the food was wrapped with a lot of aluminum foil. The spaghetti with red sauce was quite tasty and the meat balls were gigantic in size. The portions were enough for 2 people as they were not cheap. The garlic bread was okay nothing really too special. Overall, we enjoyed the food. The restaurant has a very basic atmosphere but clean. There were quite a few people there even at 9:15 ish.”
