Dave's Italian Kitchen — straightforward italian in Evanston. Freshness is the baseline here. Knowledgeable staff, so ask for guidance, and wallet-friendly. "That means that the stuff was prepared fresh and demand, and it did not sit around and oxidize" — Bryan Lau

“They brought me a large portion of crusty bread 🍞 with butter and my large bowl of spaghetti came out quickly and was extremely delicious like something your mother might make from scratch if she happened to be a good chef”
This might be the worst Italian food in the state, and the worst restaurant in Evanston.
I ordered delivery, the food was delivered quickly but the garlic on the garlic bread was very undercooked and harsh tasting.
Well, after the manager taunted my wife about her gentle request to lower the shade from the strong late day winter sun or move to another table in an otherwise empty restaurant, we considered walking out but stayed.

We shared the lasagne con amore and a pan pizza. Both were fabulous! Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Our waitress Olivia was knowledgeable and delightful!

“The food is DELICIOUS.”
The food is DELICIOUS! The staff is so friendly and don’t mind answering questions. The ONLY reason gave 4 stars for atmosphere is b/c it is small but very cute. I only come for work visits but will be back every visit and will be bringing anyone who’s traveling with me.

“Dave's Italian Kitchen lives.”
Dave's Italian Kitchen lives! This new spot is smaller and cozier but the calzones are still great value. $12 will get you a huge one, nearly big enough for 2 people.. wish they had a better variety of fillings.

“No hassle, good food/dollar, good taste.”
No hassle, good food/dollar, good taste. I hope they stay around Noyes for many years to come. I am revisiting this review in 2019 to reiterate my 5 star rating. The food is better than I remember. I love how the reds of the tomato sauce and the greens of the veggies are so bright and vibrant. That means that the stuff was prepared fresh and demand, and it did not sit around and oxidize.

“Dave’s new kitchen is a small cozy place, with delicious food.”
Dave’s new kitchen is a small cozy place, with delicious food! The server was very likable and helpful. Took his suggestion and ordered the ravioli with Rose sauce: amazing taste! Definitely recommend this sauce with whatever you’d like to eat. The bread was fresh! Nice wine. The food came out very fast! Be careful as this small restaurant so close to the campus may get filled quickly in busy hours.

“I've been missing Dave's Italian since they moved from their location near Davis.”
I've been missing Dave's Italian since they moved from their location near Davis. When I found out they reopened, I immediately decided to visit! The place is way smaller, but I enjoyed their food and great service. 😋🍕 #ItalianFood #DavesItalian

“Love the cosiness of the place and seem to have lots of return customers.”
Love the cosiness of the place and seem to have lots of return customers. It has a big selection of different combination of pasta and pizza, essentially any pasta can be made with any sauce. The portion was very generous. I tried the ceasar salad and it was good. The dressing is more garlicky than other places, but still good. The pasta was spinach pappardelle bolognese made with ground turkey. I also had side of sautéed spinach and meat ball.

“Huge portion meatball sub.”
Huge portion meatball sub! Grub Hub delivered to our 2nd floor door no problems. Calzone is huge but needs Ricotta. Lasagna is great!
