Ciao is a great place to sit, have a relaxing glass of wine and some appetizers, and listen to some jazz. The night we attended, they were hosting an open mic jazz night and we watched a number of very talented performers sing jazz standards very well. Our server was both kind and attentive. The space itself was small and cozy, and that only felt cozier as the rain began to fall outside.

Really cool spot that transforms you into another world outside of the city! The ambience makes you feel as if you are in a romantic restaurant that was entirely reserved as a private dining experience. Great fate night spot for the west loop or to get away from the typical bars/restaurants. Definitely recommend for both small bites and the avid wine selection!

Here is the reason why I gave them only 2 stars. The server was not at all friendly, he had an attitude and was obviously not happy to work there. Most of the time he was at his cellphone. At the end he put a gratuity (20.5 %) on our bill for 2 people. It is noted on their menu that for groups of 6 or more people, they will put a gratuity on the bill. When we asked why he added a gratuity of 20.5% on our tab, he merely replied that this is what they do recently. I don't think it is ok to add an automatic gratuity of over 20% for a tab of two! So, no we were not happy. However, the appetizer was delicious and the food was just ok. Nevertheless, you can get that food anywhere else in the West Loop for a similar price. I definitely cannot recommend this place!

Quiet, charming, warm place to sit and have cocktail or a glass of wine. Nice selection vinyl to spin for mood. The staff, Drew was behind the bar is vey welcoming and friendly, quickly becomes your sommelier, guide, new friend in a rough world. I will go many time more now that I’m aware of this gem.
