We came here for New Years eve,we were a party of 9 members. Tried a variety of food and everything was great. The chicken tikka masala, chicken 65 and the platter were exceptional, and we loved the mango lassi. Meera was our waitress and she did a really good service and recommended amazing dishes. Overall loved the experience and the service. Thank you Maharaj for a wonderful new years eve!!

We visited this restaurant during our Christmas trip and had been in the area for three days—by far, this was the best Indian food we’ve had in the Chicago. We were a group of six and called around 9:15 PM to check if we could arrive by 9:30 PM, and they kindly agreed. When we arrived, the host remembered our call and welcomed us very gracefully, which immediately made us feel valued. A special mention to Meera, who served us that evening—she truly made our experience memorable. Her dish recommendations were spot on: Paneer Bhurji, Kadai Paneer, and Dal Tadka—each dish was outstanding in taste and quality. She also suggested kulfi; we initially ordered fewer portions, but after tasting them, we wished we had ordered more. Both mango and kesar kulfi were absolutely delicious. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience—amazing food, a welcoming host, and heartfelt service from Meera, whose suggestions completely satisfied our taste buds. Highly recommended!

My wife and I along with a friend were traveling through Chicago last week and we had a few different places we wanted to eat. Indian Food was a bit of a compromise for us to go to, and Maharaj was recommended by an actual live person we knew in the area and some good reviews. The food was very very good, fresh, and hot. We had a variety of things and they were all good, the Naan, the Mango Lasse, the rice pudding, and the masala's. One bummer which was why it got a 4 on food, was the lamb sausage skewer/kabob was bone dry and spicy, but not the flavorful kind of spicey. I have had lamb prior and enjoyed it, but it was a disappointment.... We did have other things that were all good. So, we would for sure go back again, and not order the lamb!

Lamb chops and fish masala were excellent! I checked with the staff and they mentioned all meat is halal. Staff was really kind and served everything in a great way! They even gave me a discount on the tea! ❤️

Ordered Tandoori chicken, Kadai paneer with garlic naan and onion kulcha - Taste is good better than lot of places around. Ordered Tea along and really disappointed. Atmosphere is more of eat and go than soaking the ambiance. Overall good place to try some Indian around.

Overall experience was really good. We ordered 3 Chicken Thali Set that included - 3 Daal Makhni - 3 good portion of Rice Bowl - 12 Naan Roti - 1 Butter Chicken - 1 Kadai Chicken - 1 Chicken Tikka Masala The food was well seasoned and with full of flavors. Spice level can be adjusted; although we had the highest one and it tasted really good.

Update: We had to stop here again because the food is that good. This time we had the Tandoori Royal Platter and the Maharaj Dinner for One. Everything was absolutely tops in flavor. You can get the heat level to your choice, so that's something especially great. Our waitress was Server Code S, and she was so pleasant and helpful. What a nice person! First review: This food here is unbelievably delicious. We definitely had some of the best Indian food ever. We had the Tandoori Royal Platter and Vegetable Pakoora. OMG! The Vegetable Pakoora was out of this world delicious and the Tandoori Royal Platter was also wonderful. There were lots of diners enjoying other delicious-looking foods. I just wish I lived closer because it would be my first choice for Indian dishes.

We happened to walk past this restaurant heading to do some shopping and it was the best decision we ever made!!! We ordered the samosas as a starter and my Lord - the mint chutney that came with the samosas was absolutely amazing. HUGE Shoutout to Aaryan!! (one of the two servers who assisted us). Thank you for being such a kind person 🫶🏽 Our primary server was Angelo and he was awesome!!!! Super suggestive and funny as well. The atmosphere was super chill and open. The food was incredible!! I ordered the lamb chop masala and was blown away. So fresh and so much flavor. I will definitely be back!!!

The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was so kind and helpful. The food was incredible, the goat curry is hands-down the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time. This was my first time at an Indian restaurant, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. 10/10, highly recommend to anyone.
