Wilma's Famous Jerk
Wilma’s Famous Jerk pairs Chicago-style barbecue with soulful sides in a lively, R&B-filled atmosphere where regulars rave about saucy ribs, turkey tips, jerk egg rolls, Cajun catfish, mac and cheese, candied yams, and plantains. Generous portions, good drinks, and welcoming servers make it popular for casual group meals, though weekend availability, inconsistent delivery portions, occasional stale food, and unclear dine-in policies are worth noting.

“Brandon our server was amazing and gave great recommendations. All food and service was great! Portions are amazing and the vibe was good.”

“I had the pleasure of finally trying Wilma’s on a weekday since on the weekends there’s not much available. The chicken wings, macaroni, yams and drinks were really good as well as the jerk egg rolls! Great music, great drinks, great atmosphere! Will be back 10/10”

“I ordered the oxtails dinner with macaroni and cheese and cabbage as my sides. I received my food tasted it and then asked for napkins. I didn't get any napkins for like 10 minutes. Oxtails were NOT worth the $38 but the rice and peas were delicious and the plantains. The Mac and cheese was trash and the cabbage needed more seasoning.”

“This my first time eating here and I heard so much great news about you all food but I’m very disappointed I order online 2 mini turkey tips w/ turkey link snd a small tip the food was cold over cooked, the sausage was burnt and even the fries was terrible. Won’t try again”
“My first visit to Wilms's was Jan 2026. The atmosphere is amazing. Johnathan was the first person I met. He is friendly with a smile. He welcomes everyone coming into the restuarant will a hello. When leaving he ask, how was everything. Your reply is great. He said that what I like to hear.”
“It's always great when i go to Wilma's and Jonathan always a great help and has a friendly smile”
“Everytime I come home to Chi City, I come here to Wilma's Famous BBQ & Tavern. Originally from the Southside Oaklawn/Bridgeview area off Harlem Ave. and down the street from Chicago Ridge Mall, I'm planning to move back sometime this year. I heard about this spot about last summer so I had to come check it out for myself. The food is good, the drinks are good, the service is good, and it's good vibes for good people. I come here Everytime I come home because the everything is just that damn good. Plus I love Jamaican Jerk, and I have had the Jerk Catfish, Jerk Wings and the Jamaican Beef Patties and they were all so good! ALL the sides are really good too! I usually go during lunch and dinner time. The service is always good too. Oh, and R2D2 works there too. It's also a Bears Bar too, and I've been there for a Bears Game and the atmosphere was great! So when you need a spot to watch Bears Football, Bear Down and get here! Tell a friend, bring a friend because IYKYN!”

“CANT GET NO MORE CHICAGO THEN THIS. Food was really good, I got Turkey tips lunch special and 6 wings with lemon pepper. Everything was fresh, piping hot and seasoned well. Authentic Chicago style barbecue for sure and it was reasonable priced. Paid $12 for the turkey tips combo and $16 for the 6 wins and fries and it was well worth it”
