Bar Goa — straightforward indian in River North. Casual, established, and unapologetic about it. The bar is worth the visit on its own. Daicy Hexiao Yu: "The lamb vindaloo entree was also very flavorful and the lamb pieces were quite tender"

“We came for $30 restaurant week brunch, were welcomed with some complimentary hibiscus vodka shots”
Food was decent and service was fine. However, we were surprised to see an automatic gratuity added for a party of 4.
Disappointed….. We went for Saturday lunch, and we were the only four customers in the restaurant for quite some time.
The atmosphere is nice, pretty decor and vibes Then comes the food. I’d say it’s okayish.

“Oh hold on. Hold ON. Every dish cleared. No notes. Let’s chat. We came for $30 restaurant week...”
Oh hold on. Hold ON. Every dish cleared. No notes. Let’s chat. We came for $30 restaurant week brunch, were welcomed with some complimentary hibiscus vodka shots. Got us correct! Every 3-course meal came with a drink so I enjoyed a mango lassi. 10/10. I started with the chaat and when I tell you that was a top 10 bite. Rich, deep, and exploding with flavor. It ended up being the star of the show for me. 30/10. I also nibbled on the chili paneer. Also very, very rich and strong. The lamb vindaloo was extremely flavorful and packed a good amount of spice. All came with naan or rice included. I ended up taking the broth home with some extra sides. 20/10. Dessert was a mango sorbet, standard. I enjoyed it. I decided to try some HH drinks/food since I was already there. I won’t lie, I thought the RW meal was much stronger in flavor. The global nomad II was a busy cocktail, lots going on and didn’t really do it for me. The chicken wings were okay to me. I’d return for sure and try more HH items. My friend had the daiquiri and similar thoughts. Our server and FRIEND Uyen cleared. PAY Uyen MORE!!!! Overall for a shot, drink, and 3 courses, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. +1 point for being a part of the inKind network. See yall soon!

“The food was amazing ….”
The food was amazing …. I would say best Indian food I have tasted in Chicago down town. Unmatched vibe, authentic Indian taste. The price match with level of service, ambiance & food taste. My recommendations : chili paneer, Goan daal with rice and sabudana wada. Thought I would recommends to add a pinch of salt to it.

“LOVED Bar Goa!! I went here for the Chicago Restaurant Week menu/deal and everything was delicious....”
LOVED Bar Goa!! I went here for the Chicago Restaurant Week menu/deal and everything was delicious. My favorite dishes were the Shrimp Kolidwada starter and the Malwani Fish Curry main dish. The shrimp were a little spicy and crunchy, and the curry was pretty hot, but so delicious! The Mango Lassi was also the perfect drink to start the meal. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, as well. I would highly recommend!

“Loved the food, vibe, and music!”
Loved the food, vibe, and music!! Personal favorites were ghee roast aloo tikki chat, dahi kebab, Xacuti Chicken Curry and all the cocktails - was strong too, which I love❤️ Little critique; For goan krazy sampler, loved the bitter chicken slider only - wish they had a separate dish just for that I felt sabudana vada had more potatoes that made it taste more like aloo tikki.

“Definitely a restaurant I’d revisit in the future.”
Definitely a restaurant I’d revisit in the future. The food is amazing, and the music and environment were great. Though not in the pictures below, my friend ordered their mushroom fried rice which was actually my favorite dish out of everything everyone ordered. - The Mango Lassi is unlike any other that I’ve had before. There’s a cardamom kick to it, combined with the sweet and tanginess of mango is such a unique experience - Goan Crazy Sampler includes 4 pieces of wings, two butter chicken sliders, and fries with dipping sauce. The wings are crispy and well seasoned, just a tad bit dry though; the sliders were amazing, tender butter chicken in between two soft fluffy buns; and I love the fries dipped in the habanero sauce, not spicy at all but has a nice substitute acidic taste that cuts the grease of the fries - The Kulfi Flight has three flavor: saffron, caramel, and coffee. I’m not quite use to the taste of the saffron, but live the caramel one a lot. I think it was taken straight out of the freezer so it is pretty hard to spoon it

“Food was alright.”
Food was alright. The butter chicken was really good. Worth a try. But I am giving 5 because of its vibe and cocktails. They were playing Hindi dancing music all along and our group was eating and singing. It was really fun. Dj also takes suggestions.

“Great food with good atmosphere.”
Great food with good atmosphere. Ordered Shrimp Kolidwada, it is little spicy but delicious. Also ordered Kheema mint flat bread and Mushroom fried rice. Cocktails are fun and good as well. They play bollywood music on weekends after 9.30 p.m till close. You can also request if you like any specific songs. Everyone started dancing to the tunes and it added to the fun. Will visit again!

“I visited Goa twice in the same week for several factors that made my experience in Chicago unforgettable.”
I visited Goa twice in the same week for several factors that made my experience in Chicago unforgettable. I am Colombian and the variety of flavors found in the dishes is very diverse, however the food I tasted on these two occasions exceeded my expectations. I am also grateful for the attention given by the staff, I was fortunate to be served by Mariana who was attentive to my gastronomic experiences, such as the Butter chicken dish that with its spicy touches showed me the strength and exquisiteness with which they prepared it. Mariana also recommended me some cocktails, the one that caught my attention was the Born in Madhya. Undoubtedly, Mariana's service was spectacular, I appreciate her presence because with her disposition and attitude she made me feel comfortable in the place, her experience with customers, her warmth and efficiency is remarkable. If I come back, it would be because of that wonderful and cordial treatment. I highly recommend the place and the great attention of the waitress Mariana.

“Bar Goa is an excellent spot to enjoy delicious food and unique cocktails.”
Bar Goa is an excellent spot to enjoy delicious food and unique cocktails. I was impressed by the quality of the dishes and the innovative flavor combinations. The Butter Chicken Croquettes were a delightful twist on a classic, while the Fried Chicken Xacuti Wings brought a burst of bold flavors. The Grilled Lamb Chop was tender and flavorful. The cocktails at Bar Goa were exceptional, with each one offering its own distinct and tantalizing taste. The Mango Sangria was refreshing and fruity. The manager further enhanced the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a memorable experience. Whether you're planning a night out with friends or a special date, Bar Goa is a fantastic choice.
