India House Restaurant Chicago
India House Restaurant Chicago — well-regarded indian in River North. The walls could tell stories. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. Good for vegetarians. "The standout was the grilled tandoori chicken, perfectly smoky, tender, and full of depth" — Grace Zhanel [$$]

“Delicious Indian food from the perspective of someone who has visited India twice. There are many options for the lunch buffet and the chai tea is delicious. My only complaint is what’s up with the credit card surcharge? At least this is only 3% but it’s added to the taxable amount. I’ve noticed this is getting ridiculous in the city of Chicago. I don’t find this in the suburbs or other cities I dine in - NYC, SFO, Dallas, Phoenix…”

“Boomshaqalaka!! Hit the spot. I got the buffet, kids ordered butter chicken from the menu. Bonus from the buffet is you get sizzling tandoori chicken! Owner or manager is very diplomatic and professional. Runs a tight ship.”

“Excellent food, great service by Jose. After a long walk through the zoo, we had a great time at this restaurant and the food was delicious”

“The food was amazing, very yummy, we ate Indian food like this after long time, we are from Tampa, Florida, highly recommended lunch buffet. Divya gave us very good service, she’s very nice polite and friendly. Good luck India House 🇮🇳 🫡”

“Divya was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. We love the dinner for 2.”

“It was love at first naan! They brought out the garlic naan and a tomato-based dip to start as a free appetizer. This was promptly followed by a delicious chicken vindaloo and stuffed cheesy naan, both of which were super tasty too! Everything we ate was quite delicious, and I would also want to try their lunch buffet next time too. The servers were also quite nice, checking in every now and then - definitely recommend for your next fix of Indian food in Chicago!”

“The food and service were amazing! I will definitely come back here next time I’m in Chicago!”

“Service was excellent. Overall food was good. Roti was little dry and Aloo Gobi was average. Rest of the items were excellent. No waiting line. We were immediately seated.”
“The service was outstanding. Jose demonstrated exceptional professionalism and knew exactly how to make customers feel welcome and valued. His attentive and courteous approach greatly enhanced our dining experience. Highly recommended.”
