Arancini classico was fantastic: crisp, golden exterior with a soft, creamy risotto center that was rich without being too heavy. The marinara sauce on the side was especially good: fragrant, garlicky, and bright enough to cut through the richness of the rice. The Chicago Muffuletta sandwich was also great. Savory mortadella, hot capicola, salami, spicy and briny olive giardiniera, and melty provolone were stacked together between their nicely toasted house focaccia. The whole sandwich was topped with a sprinkle of dried herbs. A simple yet incredibly satisfying sandwich. The place itself is quite small with just about 7 seats inside. Truly a tiny spot turning out genuinely impressive food.

“I really love this place.”

I really love this place. All times of year in summer it’s a cute outdoor cafe and in fall/winter a warm refuge for the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Great food and coffee!

I wanted to like this place and I did like it in exactly the way I wish I would. Sfera is a small corner cafe with interesting foods. Their menu is small but everything we ordered we liked them. Arancini (porcini was particularly great) and the sauce that came with were my favorites. Muffuletta, a Chicago inspired panini filled with deli meat and giardinara was also tasty and filling- their bread is really excellent. sfincione is a bread-y pan style pizza. Both their pizza and sandwiches are shareable sizes with a small extra (such as arancini). I’d go back here without hesitation. Order the fresh squeeze oj if the machine is behaving that day. It’s an oddly entertaining machine. Really hope they clean this often.

OMG! The pistachio cherry cupcake & chickpea Patty sandwich!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ love that they have outdoor sidewalk seating if you don’t want to be in air conditioning. As a Sicilian, I approve. Reminds me of some things I grew up eating. Although the Sicilian pizza looks good it seems to have more cheese than in used to, probably to appease American pizza lovers. I like them all! Update! I HAD to come back to this place with my mom who is 100% Sicilian & also update my original review. Mom adored the Sicilian hot chocolate and I had the cannoli for the first time & my eyeballs rolled back in my head😳😳😍 i’ve been eating cannoli ALL my life being that I’m 1/2 Sicilian. I have NEVER tasted cannoli filling this good EVER!!!!!!!! And my grandfather was a chef! Wish I could give it 10 stars!! And the staff attitude matched the food, lovely. I only wish the indoors was a little larger but caused me to end up talking with lovely people & makes it feel more like community. This is a go to for food and dessert anytime I’m in the area!!!

Had an arancini craving and Sfera totally satisfied. I had the beef and the mushroom versions. Both were deliciously crisp in the outside and cheesy and flavorful in the inside. The folks behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. There’s not much seating inside so outdoor seating in a nice day is key. The ONLY complaint I have is that they exist in a zone that prohibits alcohol. A glass of wine would have been ideal. The cold brew I walked away with was good enough.

"I just moved to this neighborhood and walked by. Seeing a Sicilian restaurant and their style of food, which is hard to find, made me want to come in and order a coffee and a panino. The flavors were absolutely delicious! What's really important is that this place is very dog-friendly. Since it was quite cold on the day I visited, the restaurant allowed me to bring my dog inside, which I really appreciated. Additionally, the restaurant has a patio for outdoor dining, so I'll definitely be a regular customer when summer comes. All the staff members were also smiling and greeted me warmly. If anyone passes by this area, I highly recommend trying their coffee and unique food."
