Raj Darbar
A long-running Edgewater favorite, Raj Darbar draws regulars back for its exceptional mulligatawny soup, tender tandoori chicken, lamb rogan josh, sag paneer, garlic naan, and mango lassi. Diners praise fresh, customizable spice levels, generous portions, and speedy takeout, making it a reliable family or casual dinner choice; however, delivery reviews are mixed, with occasional complaints about biryani, doneness, portions, and service.

verbatim, from Google
“Ordered the Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, and Rasmalai from Uber eats. The biryanis were honestly some of the worst I’ve ever had. They tasted more like plain pulao with raisins rather than biryani. There was no authentic biryani aroma, flavor, or spice profile. The mutton seemed frozen and lacked freshness, and the combination of onions and raisins made the dish even more disappointing. As for the Rasmalai, it was even worse. After taking one bite, I had to throw it away. It tasted spoiled and looked like it may have been expired. It was extremely disappointing. Please improve the quality and freshness of the food before serving it to customers. I would not recommend ordering from here, especially for children.”

“DISGUSTING!! There was a bug (and maybe more) in my food!! I ordered from the on Uber Eats and the app won’t do anything because it is outside the 48 hour window. I didn’t EAT THE BUG (to my knowledge) within the 48 hours, but I’m still eating the food… just DISGUSTED and disappointed.”

“I had ordered pick up for veg biryani from Raj Darbar via uber eats. After driving almost 24 minutes one way to pick up the food and getting back, I found a dead bug in my biryani. Such a health safety concern and now my appetite is ruined. Also, the biryani looks more like homemade rice, obviously not eating it, but dead bug aside, it looks very bland and no spice or aroma could be observed.”
“Excellent fresh and flavorful food. We asked them to make the dishes mild for our children and it came perfectly seasoned.”
“Great food and exceptional service. The food tasted fresh and delicious. Will recommend.”
“Good food and great service. They offer delicious Indian dishes and adjust the order according to our taste prefere. Must try vegetable samosa!”
“One of the best Indian restaurant serving great food for 30 years I have been eating from 15 years and I enjoy the delicious food all the time”
“I have been eating at Raj for over 10 years and it’s always delicious, fresh and consistent. The tandoori chicken is so good, lamb vindaloo and curry is also delish!! Will be coming here for as long as they are open!!”
“So delicious! Their food is just so rich. I get the sag paneer, mango lassi, and mulligatawny soup. Probably the second-best Indian restaurant I’ve been to (and I’ve been to a couple dozen). Also very polite and attentive staff!”
