I absolutely love the atmosphere of this restaurant it’s cozy, intimate, and has the kind of lighting that makes any night feel special. Whether you’re on a romantic date, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself, the vibe is perfect. Now let’s talk about the food. I am obsessed with their garden salad. I know it sounds basic, but hear me out the lettuce is insanely fresh, the cheese is rich and flavorful, and it all just hits. Add their perfectly cooked chicken and a glass from their lovely wine selection, and you’ve got the dream combo. I’ve been here four times just for the salad and wine alone. It’s that good. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill, elevated spot that delivers every time. I’ve attached a photo of my favorite red wine from there. Enjoy!

We had been passing this gem all the time and finally got to visit this past weekend and I wish we’d come by sooner! Food was excellent, people were great, and the atmosphere/space was perfect. I’m more of a smashburger person but this meaty burger is for sure one of my favorites in the city. Will definitely be back sooner than later

Service was a bit slow but I assume it was because it was a busy Saturday evening. It was well worth the wait, anyway. I order the grilled lamb loin & it was fantastic. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve EVER had in Chicago. No cap. I will definitely be back.

Rootstock Wine and Beer Bar in Humboldt Park is a true gem. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The wine and beer selection is top-notch, featuring unique finds that cater to all tastes. We enjoyed the duck egg fried in breadcrumbs, ricotta dumplings, and steelhead trout. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. This was the first time that I’ve had homemade ketchup and it was so good I licked the saucer cup clean. Ended the meal with the chocolate mousse and must I say it was the perfect dessert to end the meal. The perfect place with rustic style food and chill vibes.

Very cozy. Very delicious food. Great services. I wish more up to date beer menu on the website. It's too dark to read the menu. Pretty good shrimp cocktail sauce. Unique skate cheeks dish, so good. Picanha, here is something else, just the perfect balance of flavors. Great portion. Great for sharing.

Love this place! Tried for the first time randomly only because it was open late and I had to come back again because their pasta was soooo good, and wine choices were excellent and unique! Their menu changes constantly so when I came back they didnt have the pasta I was craving but they had a similar pasta that tasted pretty identifical but was interesting with green peas! Finally got to try the burger and it was soooo good. Love the ambient too!! Def a hidden gem in chicago!

“Rootstock always hits.”

Rootstock always hits! We came on a Saturday night and the 2 of us were seated at the bar within 30 mins. We had wine while we were waiting and split all these amazing dishes when we got seated. The bartender and host were extremely hospitable and welcoming. We had great conversation and finished our meal with a digestif recommended by the bartender. Thank goodness we’re locals and will be going back again soon.

“I really like the ambiance.”

I really like the ambiance. Mind you I arrived as they were opening, so not busy and the service was one on one. The burger is really good, just not the best I've tried for my personal taste. It comes with salad, pickles and jalapeños on the side. I usually don't like pickles, but these ones were really good. I totally recommend coming if you want to eat a great classic burger with a spin. But I would not order the fries again, they were crispy though.
