“been trying to find chilaquiles like this back home in detroit, guess i just had to come to chicago for it. the waitress kindly warned me the rojo was extra spicy, and even brought me some more rice and sour cream when i started sweating 😂 everything was fresh off the grill, the food was done quickly, the atmosphere is quaint and unassuming just how i like it. i will surely be back.”

“I’ve been coming here for a very long time and I’ve got to say, I never get tired of the food. Once you walk in, you get this nice quaint and cozy atmosphere and a nice aroma of that Mexican cuisine. You can’t go wrong with the agua frescas because they are out of this world and always taste homemade. The horchata is unlike any I’ve ever tasted (in a good way) and each sip from the agua de maracuya made from passion fruit is a genuinely splendid. I got the Torta and lemme tell you, it was one of the best tortas I’ve ever bitten, the carne is nice and juicy while also seared to perfection, and along with the freshly picked ingredients. I also got the Nacho fries which were very nice and dedicate (but make sure to eat with a fork). The service is always nice and very welcoming. This restaurant checks off all the boxes and it’s surprising that it has not earned a Michelin star, yet. Onions & Cilantro is one of the best Mexican Restaurante in not only buck town but in all of Chicago itself.”
“I moved to Chicago from Texas and this is the best, authentic Mexican food on this side of town! The food here is ALWAYS consistent. They always have the best cut of meat, superb ingredients, generous portions, reasonable prices, and phenomenal staff!! Whenever I come here, I am greeted like family and treated as such! “We had gotten the Barbacoa & Arrachera Tacos & Toastadas. They were amazingly seasoned. The 2 salsas had great flavor and was not a spice that over powered the flavor. Can't wait to go back when we are in the Chicago Area.”

“Came to Chicago from michigan and decided to try this place out. Let me tell you the food was good! The service was good as well, didn't encounter any attitude. My daughter and I got chicken fajitas and chicken nachos and we loved it. No fat on the chicken, everything had flavor! The horchata was ok a little watered down but not bad. Definitely will be on our list of places to go back to.”
