Rooftop at Nobu Hotel Chicago — bar & grill in West Loop. Always packed, always worth it. Drink selection punches above its weight.

“Ordered the fish carpaccio along with a martini and an old fashioned — drinks were mixed really well, and the food had that clean, flavorful Nobu signature”
Food was super overpriced for the amount and taste received. Cocktails disgusting.
Celebrated with my aunt here for her birthday. $16 for six pieces of sushi that was honestly mediocre at best.
The food was ok. Nothing stood out except the crispy Brussel sprouts.

Went on a busy Friday evening and they still managed to accommodate our group of three, which already set a good tone. Ordered the fish carpaccio along with a martini and an old fashioned — drinks were mixed really well, and the food had that clean, flavorful Nobu signature. The vibe on the rooftop is immaculate: warm lighting, great energy, and that relaxed-but-upscale feel. Staff was genuinely understanding and easy to talk to, never rushed us and made the whole experience comfortable. A solid spot for a night out when you want good drinks, good sushi-style plates, and a beautiful setting.

Nobu rooftop is located on top of the hotel in West Loop, which is very convenient, if you stay in the hotel. There is also a restaurant on the 1st floor. Not sure if there is a parking for those who is staying in hotel, but it was pretty hard to find parking nearby on the street, probably on weekdays it’s easier. Rooftop is very nice, it has tables for 2 and for company of people. We’ve tried sushi, few cocktails and mochi on dessert, everything was tasty. I didn’t like mochi a lot though, I would try different dessert next time. There is also a good music and nice view on downtown.

“Great summertime Chi Rooftop Happy Hour.”
Great summertime Chi Rooftop Happy Hour! Beautiful rooftop with indoor and outdoor dining. A few shaded areas with couches and high top seats. Great variety on happy with with bites and drinks. Wagyu Sliders 10/10: Chefs kiss! Ordered per slider, trust me get at least 2! Salmon Dry Miso: 10/10 great flavor and fresh Brussels: 10/10 nice and crispy. Not soggy. Great flavor. Will be back for great views, good and service any time!!

Throughly enjoyed sampling the new rooftop menu! Cocktails were beyond my imagination. Chef Daniel Rakestraw thoughtfully explained each dish to our table of four. Views & vibes were a 10!

“Everything I had was was delicious.”
Everything I had was was delicious. I was not wowed by anything, but definitely satisfied with my meal. I'd love to return to try more items, and of course eat on the first floor. During tanoshi hour, we had the lychee/elderflower martini and the market margarita. Oh bothhhhh of these were so good. 10/10. I'd order either of those again without question. For food we had the crispy okra, oyster trio, karaage chicken, and yellowtail jalapeño roll. All very good! The chicken was probably my favorite. Not the best karaage ever, but very tasty. There are better (cheaper) options for HH in Chicago, but this was definitely a nice way to sample some of NOBU's dishes without breaking the bank and enjoy the city views. It wouldn't be my first pick for HH, but I'd certainly go back and try more dishes.

Always a nice treat to absorb good vibes and beautiful views while relishing delicious bites. If you’re looking for a slightly more relaxed situation with high quality options, Nobu Rooftop is a great place to let the time pass. I’m a sucker for caviar topped nigiri and rock shrimp in the late afternoon or bao bun breakfast sandwiches and Nobu honey toast on the weekend. Fan of the Grand Cordon, Lychee Martini, or the Nobu Old Fashioned on those days when a libation is non-negotiable.

We lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous evening to sit outside on a summer night in Chicago. The Wagyu sliders and various sushi pieces were exceptional. The ambiance was great and there was a DJ to add some fantastic music. A really nice evening out!

The food and service were excellent, and the rooftop was beautiful and comfortable (we were there on a day with perfect weather, though, so I can't speak to how the rooftop experience holds up if it's hot or chilly). I would only deduct one star from atmosphere because there's not anything to look at besides the tops of other buildings, but that's still a pretty lovely view! One thing to be aware of: This is definitely a small bites place, and it can't really replace dinner if you didn't eat a substantial lunch and have a midday snack, like we did. As far as I could tell, the best option for parking was the hotel valet, which cost $13.

One of the few rooftops at West Loop with a stunning Chicago skyline view. Reservation is strongly advised. Black cod butter lettuce is one of the unique piece.

Nobu is an excellent Japanese inspired small-plate eatery with an expansive drink selection and rooftop bar The food quality was wonderful, the drinks well made, and the service to be imitated. The close and cosy vibe offers a great place to grab dinner or a light snack/drink with friends. The view of the Chicago skyline is easily one of the best in the city, and you will have a hard time beating it! The ribeye sliders are a no-brainer for the indecisive (also one of the best offers!), the nobu style Ceasars salad was wonderfully presented and tasted great, finally, the shrimp tempura sushi was fresh and tasty. Similarly, the Yuzu Strawberry Calpico is a delicious and refreshing option for the non-alocholic options. For alcohol, it's honestly too hard to pick. The selection is so vast you WILL find something for your taste! I recommend with no hesitation, whether you are a local or a visiting tourist. “Can’t say enough good things about this place.”
Can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend. Rooftop view is perfect. Staff was very respectful and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious also. Dj played a lot of good music. I had such a good time. My guest arrived late but the bar tender made my drinks so good I didn’t even care if my guest arrived or not. Definitely will be eating and drinking at the NOBU again🙌🏿
