“Also you get more fish if you choose the fish that already have spicy sauce, like spicy tuna, as opposed to plain fish, like plain salmon, due to the scoop shape”
called in for a grubhub order saying i received less rice than the past few times i ordered.
Me and my family took a long time to figure out what we'd like to order and get it just right.
HAIR IN FOOD - we ordered three items. Two of them had disgusting hairs in them.

“I got a build your own poke bowl and a spicy ramen bowl.”
I got a build your own poke bowl and a spicy ramen bowl. The fish was fresh and there are also many different toppings to choose from. The prices are very affordable for Chicago. Seating is a bit limited depending on what time you go.

“Really fresh poke bowls and a really good portions and price.”
Really fresh poke bowls and a really good portions and price! I got the Logan and a Build Your Own poke bowl. $13.95 for a bowl is a great price in the city. Try the Thai Iced Tea Lemonade. It tastes like an Arnold Palmer with spices. There is a nice outdoor seating area for the warmer months because the inside isn’t very big. Fast and friendly service. I would come back again if I’m in the area. Street parking is somewhat difficult to find though.

“Obviously, this is not a hawaiian style poke.”
Obviously, this is not a hawaiian style poke. I mean, I dont think any of the mainland poke spot does true Hawaiian style to be fair. If you have been to Hawaii, you know poke are pre marinated with frsh Ahi tuna, rock salt, sweet onion, inamona, limu, and some variations. Typically, it doesn't use different fish, no toppings like pinapple, mango, or heavy sauce. Basically, it's not really instagramable? But I'm opposed to it being different because this is how culinary evolves and something delicious can be created. Mommoth Poke is just that. Their mixture of toppings, sauces, and fish creates a very flavorful dish as one. Compared to any other poke places I have been in Chicago, this is the best spot like many others have stated in other reviews. I put hawaiian poke sauce, a little bit of garlic aioli and spicy mayo, and it was a really good mixture of sauce.

“This was so delicious.”
This was so delicious. I’m glad I stopped here! Spice level was perfection (spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, and wasabi mayo). Prices were reasonable too considering how much food you get. Seaweed as an extra was only $1 and the serving was very generous. Family owned spot, gonna keep supporting!

“5 stars with a critique: I want to preface this by saying that I love this place.”
5 stars with a critique: I want to preface this by saying that I love this place. Always quality food and service which is why I’m doing 5 stars. But tonight I ordered a bowl with tortilla chips included and didn’t realize they would fill HALF the bowl with tortilla chips and place the rest of the ingredients on top. I think anyone would have preferred more salmon or greens or fruit vs all of these chips. It really bummed me out, especially when the bowl was $14.
