“Found this place on the last day of our trip which serves as both a cruel joke and a sincere goodbye. Easily one of my favorites places we ate at while in Chicago. The staff was friendly and the El Machismo and home made salsa were immaculate. Had we come across El Bagelero earlier we would have visited each subsequent morning. However, cruelly as the universe often is, we stumbled in on our last morning, and the meal we had left me mournful for our trip as we set foot for our departure from this city that welcomed us as openly as the staff here did.”

“This is a staple breakfast spot that never disappoints. Always happy with the very friendly staff and good prices! Consistently delicious.”

“We got coffee from McDonalds crossed the street and got bagel sandwiches. So we got booted $170 fee, seemed sketchy too cause the guy wanted cash at first. Forgot to take picture of the sandwiches due to that incident. We were away for 15min or less. Anyway that fee 😪 was worth it, the carnitas and steak and egg sandwiches were amazing. The horchata donuts are hugeee fluffy and delicious!”

“Excellent bacon egg and cheese bagel! Cafe Con Leche one of the best I've ever had. Happy El Bagelero is in Bucktown!”

“El Bagelero is our new favorite! "Las Carnitas” is perfectly balanced, and the egg sandwiches actually hold together. Totally worth the parking trek!”

“Very delicious egg & cheddar cheese on rosemary bagel with chipotle mayo. Wow, really good. Coffee is very good too. Service was very friendly. Great stop!”

“First of all, Felipe the owner is the nicest man on earth. Secondly, he makes the best chorizo breakfast burrito i’ve ever had… wow. so good”

“Do not go to my favorite bagel shop in the city. I’m begging you. Do not order the lox on an everything bagel. And especially do not get my BREAKFAST BURRITO.”

“Turkey and cheese on Everything bagel El machismo on jalapeño chedder Off the bat, I wish I found this place sooner instead of the last day of my trip. Felipe & his crew, run an amazing kitchen. We sat in for breakfast, he was extremely kind and had a good chat. Bagels made the New york way, iykyk! Would recommend a stop, especially since he's right off the Blue line western stop”

“I ordered El Machismo on an onion bagel and ate it on the spot. As you can see, it was steaming hot but it was very good. However, I did find hair on the pickled jalapeño. I normally don’t care that much so I just took it out and finished it. Stuffed, hot, and vibes are good.”

“Great bagel spot! Great bagels are so hard to find here in the city but El Bagelero absolutely scratches that itch. Quick service counter style with a few table if you choose to eat in. With plenty of bagel flavors and cream cheese options. I recommend the BEC sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bagel - yum!! Despite being busy on a prime Sunday morning, the line moved quickly and service was very quick and friendly.”
