Everything was fantastic until the blue prawns get in the way, they were still kinda raw I know that’s how some places do it but I felt uncomfortable eating raw shrimps, and desserts were subpar

This place is insane. The food is so delicious and interesting while still being totally accessible and not at all frou frou. Cannot believe the reviews about small portions - the plates I tried were all perfectly portioned for two diners to share. My main dish, a duck breast, was over-portioned if anything. The service was very attentive and they offered thoughtful touches like the option to order a half size plate of bread. I did find the all-male staff (both front and back of house) a little odd.

Mixed feelings… I visited this restaurant twice in May 2026, and I can say I tried quite a few dishes. I understand that a Michelin restaurant is often about creativity and experimentation, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was “playing restaurant.” Let me explain: the food feels so overly complicated that it seems they forgot one important thing — it still has to be enjoyable to eat. The presentation is beautiful, and the menu is sophisticated, but in reality, many dishes were disappointing. What I enjoyed: - Burger — good. - Bruschetta with stracciatella — delicious. - Scallop — delicious. - Jamón — delicious. -Offal with peas — flavorful, but the peas seemed undercooked. Perhaps that was intentional? - Salted caramel ice cream — excellent. - Dark chocolate dessert — very good, especially if you enjoy bittersweet chocolate. The questionable dishes: - Pork — nearly half of it was fat (see photo). - Bread — tasty, but the crust was burnt. - Panna cotta with olive oil… why?! The panna cotta itself was delicious, but I genuinely didn’t understand what the olive oil was doing there. To me, it completely ruined the dessert, and I actually tried to pour the oil out of the plate. After two visits, I feel confident saying that the May menu just wasn’t for me. For context, I’m a bit of a spoiled foodie. I’ve traveled extensively and had the opportunity to taste many cuisines around the world, so I have a strong sense of what I personally consider truly delicious. Despite my mixed review, I’m still giving this place 5 stars because it is undeniably unique, and it’s a fascinating experience for anyone who enjoys trying something unconventional and new. P.S. Out of all the dishes, I would only repeat the bruschetta with stracciatella. The crispy dark bread and the garlic-cream spread were absolutely amazing! The turnip on top is questionable, but okay.

The menu is unusual. I was there in May. We had the burger, crudo, Paolo’s Stracciatella, panna cotta with olive oil (why?! It wasn’t tasty at all!), and the dark chocolate dessert. As an experiment, it was interesting. So far, the standout for me was the stracciatella — it’s served on toasted dark bread, and it was delicious. I came back again a week later, and the menu was exactly the same. Next time I’ll order something different and share another update later.

Visited Chicago while on our anniversary trip and booked here on a whim. Loved everything from the interior and ambiance, the chance to see the masters at work at the chef’s counter, and of course the food. I still dream about that burger and these dishes we had. I remember the taste of the white salsify with mussel — I learned that day what salsify was. food: 5/5 no notes. their tubs filled with pickled goodness were so fun! everything was delish! service: all the staff was great, our waitress was attentive and efficient. she left us alone and came over when called. the chefs were very cool! we got to watch them while at the counter and they gave us some stories. they even comped us for our anniversary dessert and my fiance still thinks about their ice cream LOL atmosphere: sexy, moody, intimate. all the good things of a date night. and a great playlist!

We came here on a whim for a celebratory dinner. Our server was the most helpful! We had the loveliest meal with late summer ingredients and really interesting wines. When we got our panna cotta, I couldn’t believe how much flavor came from this simple and unassuming dessert. A new favorite restaurant!

Dinner was lovely at Cellar Door Provisions. Their preparation style highlights the texture and flavors of each main ingredient. Our favorites were the olives brined in house, and the burger. Service was outstanding. I never enjoy when you sit at a chef's counter and the kitchen team pretends they can't see you. That's awkward. This was very different. The chefs asked us questions about ourselves, and chatted with us. They made us feel incredibly welcome.

Dishes were creative and unique, had amazing flavor profiles. I absolutely love the lamb carpaccio, never had raw lamb before, it was cured well and paired with gooseberries that popped in the mouth and cut through the greasiness. Mussels were also mind blowing with the taste and creativity. Everything was fantastic until the blue prawns get in the way, they were still kinda raw I know that’s how some places do it but I felt uncomfortable eating raw shrimps, and desserts were subpar. However overall it’s amazing and definitely worth going back for new menu rotations

If you’re the type who enjoys the thrill of a high-stakes seating arrangement, Cellar Door Provisions on a Saturday night is your arena. Do not—under any circumstances—show up without a reservation unless you enjoy the sight of being turned away alongside three other hopeful parties. The dining room was sweltering during our visit, seemingly because the AC hadn’t quite caught up to an unseasonably warm evening; ironically, the bathroom was the only place in the joint where you could actually catch a cool breeze. The meal itself is a bit of a marathon. It took over 20 minutes just to have our order taken, and the gaps between courses were long enough to start questioning our life choices. Luckily, we had the foresight to secure a bottle of wine while waiting for our table, which made the disappearing act performed by the service staff slightly more tolerable. When the food did arrive, the bread service was a mandatory win, especially when leveled up with the Jamon Iberico. We also tried the beets, which... tasted like beets. If that’s your personality, you’ll love them. The mains were a mixed bag of ambition. The Russet Potato & Taleggio Anolini was a bit of a dough-heavy affair, with a filling that was unfortunately bullied into submission by an aggressive amount of sage. The Bavette Steak, however, was a standout—tender, perfectly seasoned, and frankly so good on its own that the black scallop sauce felt like an unnecessary accessory. But the real showstopper? The Panna Cotta with olive oil. It is a genuine delicacy and the only reason to save any room at the end of the night. We’ll probably be back, but we’ll wait for a seasonal menu change—and hopefully a functional air conditioner.
